Why is it all of the good brake controller manufacturers have gone under? Jordon Ultima 2020, BrakeSmart, & now MaxBrake...

Because most are afraid to tap into their brake line.

And with many if not the majority of new tow vehicles coming off the lot with a factory installed controller, the market has to be suffering in general and even more so for such a specialized product as the MaxBrake.

the directlink is junk like the p3, southwest wheel talked us into trying one. it plugs into the udt port to get signal but no way to get proportional info on brake line pressure.

I have a few parts for the Max Brake left and I'm working on a low price to help anyone who may be in need as would rather not carry the parts any longer. The things I do not have left are hydraulic sensors {do have air's} or sensor cables. This is more for someone who needs a tee, harness, bracket and small things like that or who now has a different truck or different year Dodge and the current parts don't fit.

Cummins12V98,

I purchased a MaxBrake after reading here on the TDR. I think the MaxBrake should work on any truck with a hydraulic brake system. Mine has a sensor that plumbs in at the brake master cylinder; that sensor detects the line pressure and allows current flow to the trailer brakes. More pressure, more current, more trailer braking, instantly.

Or is your question the specific fitting to plumb into the master cylinder? I am sure some here know if any changes there. I would think you could always find some plumbing to make it work.

I am not concerned about tapping the MC. My question is will the connectors fit? Are the 2011 and 2015 trucks connectors the same?

I either have air in my RV brake lines or my Factory controller is not sending enough juice. So I need to bleed the RV brakes to eliminate that possibility.

Hi Ron,
Will it work on a 2015 dually? It should, but there could be tee and harness differences between those years. As the newer trucks came out, MB was having trouble keeping up with which tee would work for each year as Dodge kept changing things {which meant my knowledge was based on what they knew}. I also discovered they could take a different Dodge harness.
If you're interested, call me on Dutch's cell at 941-223-1601 10 am to 10 pm central time 7 days a week and between dutch & I, we'll do our best to give you the right information.
Hope all is well with you. Hugs, Di
I still have the MaxBrake that Dutch helped me install at MayMadness in 2012 on my 11 HO Dually. Will it work on my 15 Dually?

Ron, regarding the trailers brakes vs the TV controller, one of the standard test is to pull the emergency breakaway cable on a gravel road and see if the trailer will lock up all four wheels. It is best to do this without the trailer plugged into the TV.

If it locks and skids all four wheels on the gravel, then you know the trailer brakes are doing their thing. If so it is time to look at the TV controller. In the link I provided above, there are those that thing the new RAMs have an issue with their controllers. SNOKING

STILL??? I thought they put that to bed with the 2012 and up ITBCs.

Rusty

I am hoping I just have air in the brake lines. I had a Friend help me bleed them but I think he may have taken out too much fluid on the first caliper. He is a good mechanic but the actuator does not hold much fluid so I will bleed again and also pull the break away pin and see what happens. I know how good these brakes should work having Disks on my last 07.5 MS and using a MaxBrake controller.

I am waiting for RV.net to get done doing maintenance so I cam look at the link SNOKING provided.
