looking at buying a MaxCare plan for my 2020 3500 and have been talking with Chrysler. I am looking at the 5year/100,000 mile plan. They say its a 2 year extension of the their 3year/36,000 mile waranty. So am I just buying 2 years of warranty? Here is their reply...
Maximum Care is an extension of the 3/36, but has additional plan benefits. The $0 deductible plan benefits include, $100 roadside assistance and towing allowance, per occurrence, up to 5 days of car rental coverage per warranty repair visit, $600 worth of key fob repair and replacement coverage, and $1000 trip interruption coverage. These are all plan benefits that go with all Maximum Care plans.

You have up to when your 3/36 is about to expire to decide on getting the master care. Main advantage to getting sooner is the rental car coverage. Personally I would do the $100 or $200 deductable but then I can fix allot of things myself.

Only reason Im looking at it is because of the CP4 issue..dont care about rental car or key fobs..If the 3/36000 mile warranty covers the fuel pump I will wait.

Unless things have changed....the engine/drivetrain is 5yr/100,000, the 3/36,000 is for the rest of the truck.....given the electronics of these trucks, coverage for the whole truck to 5/100,000 is a good idea. Even if you wait, the maxcare policy starts at mile zero and date of purchase.......

The plans get a little more expensive the longer you get into the 3/36. Do a search here for Max Care, there are several companies that offer genuine Mopar plans for very competitive prices. And yes, the manufacturer warranty (3/36, 5/100) are first in line except for the rental and trip insurance, so you are only really buying coverage beyond factory warranty.
The key fob coverage is not needed until you send the $200 fob that needs $100 programming through the wash, or you misplace it. Then it is pretty nice coverage.

In case you'd like to compare the various plans, here's a link...

One question that comes to mind, and I should know this answer...
If I chose to do the oil and filter change myself (retaining the receipt for the oil/filter) I presume that I won't be violating the terms of the warranty...
I believe the answer is "Yes" I can do it myself if its within the mileage specs for the required service, but has anyone experience issues with warranty service for any work you've chosen to take on yourself? For instance, You choose, for whatever purpose, to use Royal Purple in the diff, and an issue comes up, any problem getting warranty service??
Cheers

I had quite a bit of work done on my maxcare, and no dealer ever asked for any proof of maintenance.
I do all of my own maintenance.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've reached out to a local dealer for a quote for a 2020 3500 they have there and one for Maxcare 8/125 $100 ded..
Cheers

Do they offer the unlimited Max Care on CTD’s? That’s what I have on my ‘14 Durango. Unlimited time and mileage, bumper to bumper. Price really wasn’t too bad either. A friend has the same Durango and I gave him the heads up, and he bought his just as 3/36 was going up. He paid way more, but still got it.
I do all my own maintenance too, but with this vehicle, it’s registered on the website. I needed a radiator, and I wanted to print the policy again, and it wouldn’t let me until I entered the maintenance I did. For location, I put “my driveway”. That unlocked the policy so I could print. believe it or not.

If you’re going to buy it get it sooner than later. It’s up to almost 8K for my 2018 to get a 8/125 with a 0 deductible, and 4K for $200 deductible. I think I’m going to pass at this point.

Just posted this on another warranty thread. I will add, I think I was told the warranty price would go up after either 1 year or 12000 miles. May check with the dealer to see what they say.

"For what it's worth, the Max Care warranty prices are somewhat negotiable, so check a few different places. I didn't buy the extended warranty at time of purchase, but within a few months (5000k miles) got a quote from moparserviceplans.com for $3320.00 for an 8yr/120k with $100 deductible. I reached out to the dealer I purchased the truck from and they quoted $2385 for the same plan. I advised the rep for moparserviceplans.com what the dealer was quoted, they countered with $2220. Dealer ended up matching that price."

So I am going to the dealer today to see if they will hold up their end and offer me the same price on the 8/125 MaxCare policy (or whatever is the current highest offered). I may try the 2500 quote to see if they catch it.. :) I was curious about the deductible though, if the truck is covered under the factory warranty but you take advantage of the towing, rental truck, etc do you still pay the deductible as if it wasnt? I am trying to weigh the $200 vs $100 right now, I hope not to use it :) but its just the CMA factor is worth it should some of these expensive electronics go out, electrical on my 04 was not great. I remember when my driveline yoke went bad, I had to wait several months for a replacement part from FCA that was backordered, insurance paid for all of it sans the $100. I will likely be in that 7500 initial mile range when I am out west towing by 5er this summer so would like the piece of mind if nothing else.

Hold out for the $100 deductible or $0. Some repairs are less than $200 and no need for the warranty then. Regardless if you have to use the warranty often the $200 adds up quick.

The loaner cars and rentals I was given were 100% covered. Except for the rock in the windshield of a loaner my insurance glass coverage paid for. Jeep Renegades are rock magnets and have over a grand of glass for the windshield...

Well since my dealer matched the lowest online offer (with the coupon code) for the 8y/125k MaxCare plan, I went ahead and got it, I hope to never need it but if I do its there.. As for the $100 deductible, my 04 was only in a few times and every time it was more than $500, so I figure if I paid the extra $1000 for the $100 deductible (vs. $200) I would have to complete 10 warranty claims to make it break even (pun intended). The point is to protect for the big ticket repairs for me so I figure it'll do that and I'm covered... and its transferable should I decide to move on before the end.

Would you share your lowest online cost, and the website you obtained it on? I'm waiting on a truck to be delivered at the end of Feb, and it would be great to have the ammunition with the Finance guy.

yeah.. I was quoted $3167 for a 8y/125k Max Care, I submitted my email, MY, mileage,, and they came back at $2761 for the same thing, dealer gave me the same deal through them for $2760 ( I know $1 saved but i did not have to call, email or chat.. done at the same dealer as I purchesed the truck, differerent FIN guy tho :) ).
Here is the webpage, they had the best pricing I could find.
