I wouldn't get that with my truck falling off a cliff with a down draft.

That is funny Jim! But I suppose with the front end coefficient of drag on these rigs that a down draft really does not effect mileage over the cliff edge. Why can I not get that mental image of my truck going over the edge of a cliff out of my mind... ... . It's like a bad '60s song. :)

I guess I shouldn't beat up the Dodge so much (verbally only). Once I had a '90 Ford F150 short bed, 4WD with a 302 automatic. It was gutless and would only get 13-14 going down hill. My '98 Dodge with the 10 cylinder got 14 no matter what and if you stepped on it coming off a stop light... . it would GO.
The same was true of my old '68 Z/28 Camaro... ..... 14 mpg day in and day out, but it was a really fun 14 mpg!

I get 16 empty in town where I do most driving now. Doesn't matter how I drive (2 gallons/tank is not enough to anger people behind me and me too... ) a 4. 10 rear and six wheels with a front drive shaft is probably some of the reason and it WILL plant you back in your seat. Hauling heavy for me (16k) I get 10 at 70 with stock SW.
