My deepest safe ford (pun) was middle of the doors smooth surface water. Much deeper, and the fuel tank will float away the back end of the truck...

I have been in that very situation twice both times I had "front wheel" drive only. At least we have the comfort of knowing that the front end will stay glued to the bottom not matter what :)

I don't know about you guys, but I sure didn't spend 13k to turn my Ram into a Submarine! I've got my blazer for that one! Geez, you guys are crazy. When I bot my ram, its intention was to tow the blazer, but opted for the 4x4 because... Well admit it, 2x4's look like whimp trucks! (all they are is a car with extended cargo capacity!!!) That and I needed a chase truck if the blazer couldn't get off the trail.

I have started to really enjoy this truck, but now the transmission is really starting to get on my nerves. I'm just lucky that I'm taking it into Dallas today to have a DTT kit put in and have the bugger rebuilt!

Only thing I can say is get a Jeep... ... ... ... ... I did and trust me a Jeep sure feels much lighter going through the mud bottoms where I hunt than my truck... ... ... . as Jeepers say, "it's not really what you drive but how far you can drive when you leave the pavement. "

Toys, gotta love 'em!!!

bad things happen when you think your truck is a submarine

It can get expensive to drive in mud holes that have ducks swimin on em!
