2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Maxx Links broke!!

One of my rear Maxx Links sway bar link broke. It looks like the threaded piece had a defect because you can see that there was only about 1/8" of good metal holding it together. I surely thought that these would be a superior design than the factory stuff. I don't abuse my truck, heck I never even take it off road.

havent had probs with my fronts I thought they have a warranty I would call them and send them a pic of the break. they should be a stand up enough company to get you new ones. If it looks like a molding error those things happen. just bad quality control. let us know what they say

I've just installed them today on mine, it seems to be a good product so I hope it's a lonely problem...

Did Maxx give you a feed back ? I think it's lifetime warranty on the steel axle pin...

HookMeUp, that stinks. I recently did the front and rear on mine. For the cost, especially the rear set, I'd be giving Maxx a call. They're more than likely a stand up company and will Hook-U-right-up with some new ones and a return shipping so they can share with their suppliers. Keep us informed.

Maxx Suspension came through, I just got my replacements in the mail today. I try to find time this weekend to get them changed out.

There is just one thing I don't like with the rear set, it is that the threads at the bottom of the link are very long and may hit rocks or logs when offroad... grinder time ?

I did,nt like the rears either. Im double nuting them & cutting off excess.

but what got me was that the front thru bolt was a standard grade #307A like you would use to bolt two pieces of wood together.

Shouldnt be at least grade 5.

Or maybe it was designed to be a weak link ?

Any thoughts ?

This sounds like a question best asked of the good folks at Maxx . . . Although I wonder if (like mentioned above) if this is by design?

Maxx Links broke too

Watch out my links on the front of my 99 Ram 1500 lasted less than 3600 miles! Found the RH one missing (3/8 bolt broken) only the lower mount still there and the LH lower mounting bolt keeps coming loose. The hardware is too cheap and should be Grade 8 strength material. Nice part but the hardware is too light.



I am taking this up with Geno's. Hopefully the pair I installed on my 3500 last longer. I think I'll still pull them and replace the 3/8 bolt with a Grade 8.

Wow! I am not too happy to see this thread as I have a set of these on my '01. Since then I found a set that looks a lot beefier, albeit a bit more expensive, from Titan Machine. I have ordered a set for the '02 as well as a set of control arms. I will let you folks know how they turn out. Sure hope I don't have any issues any time soon with the Maxx Links though... :{

I'm disappointed too... just installed the rear set and I have to change front soon because oem links are coming loose...



It's a bit strange, do we have to upgrade (with stronger hardware) an upgrade kit for our trucks ?



Are this links really stronger than oem ?

Got them swapped out over the weekend. I noticed that the design was a little different on the replacements. The piece that mounts to the swaybar had a larger hole drilled in it. Looks like they did that to give the stud on the link more room to move around. Time will tell ...

There was no hesitation from Geno's. I e-mailed them directly and the response was same day.



Looks like they are taking my concern to the manufacturer and will be replacing my broken links. Hopefully the manufacturer will upgrade the 3/8 inch bolt to Grade 8.



Always nice to deal with people who care about what they sell.

I'd be interested as well to see what they do about the lack of grade 8 bolts. I recently did the front and rear on mine = not cheap (rear $150 + front $90) and just noticed the r/front top bushing is cracked WTF #@$%!.
