Dodge Ram and Cummins Tour!

2011 NHRDA World Finals, Topeka Kansas Sept 10th

Yup yup!! Planning on being there at least for part of it. With it being the same weekend as desert storm in havasu I will probably split my time.

Not sure if ill be competing now... i was going to for fun but i got invited to the 2011 Diesel Power Challenge. I might be putting some twins on finally.

You guys better show up; even Maddog plans to come; he will bring his green Drof crew cab with a 6. 7, dual CP3s, and triple turbos.

Well, we've sure been busy since we arrived for this years May Madness.

Monday was a registration day and just generally greeting and hugging old friends.

Tuesday started off with a breakfast followed by registration, a craft event & 4 seminars. We enjoyed a greet and meet put on by Saitta-Trudeau Dodge early evening. Quite a few 1stimers were in attendance!

Wednesday had folks attending 3 more seminars throughout the day and we had a fun pot luck at the clubhouse. Good food, great weather and wonderful conversation!

For those not into the pot luck there was drag racing at the Last Vegas Motor Speedway.

More to follow later--------------Diana

Well, I thought I''d give another update on the Rally.
Thursday started off with a TDR breakfast-unfortunately for Dutch I decided sleep was more important than food-a rarity for me!
Two craft sessions for the Ladies were held during the day while the guys and those gals not into crafts drove to Vegas for BD Dyno Days! I heard great reports from those who went. I'll let someone else post results if they wish. Some also toured and played at the Pinball Museum. Now, that sounded really neat. There were small "social hour" groups enjoying being together in and around the park with dinner on our own tonight.
Today was a vendor day at the "Hall of Gottahavits"!!! It was open from 9 to 3:30. Plenty of time to wander, look, checkout and purchase those things we all just can't live without!!
There were more informative seminars held during that time too. The event is held at the Golden Nugget Casino so those who wished to try their luck had plenty of games of chance to chose from. The annual Round Table Discussion followed back at the RV park on various truck related topics and of course the input from the "Dodge" guys. Dinner again on our own tonight. Will post more later. Diana

DIRRGANG,

Thanks for the updates on what is going on at MM. I really appreciate hearing about what is going on, this year. Boy, do I miss not being there!!!! However, my Mom had a stroke, last Nov. , & it's more important that I be nearby her. That's just a part of life as we get older.

Al & Diane Mendez along with Harold & Bev Westman weren't able to make it due to health issues, also. I, definately, miss seeing them at MM, also.

Hopefully, next year will allow us all to, once again, attend MM. Sure do miss all the fun.

Thanks again, Diana, for the updates. For us, it's the next best thing to actually being there, in person.

Joe F.

Thanks for the kind words Joe. We missed you and the others who weren't able to make it.

Well another May Madness has almost come to an end. The Hall of Gottahavits was open from 8 to 1 and in with a few other seminars was the always popular Show N Shine. We went back in the evening and enjoyed the food and camaraderie of those at our table. The prizes and give aways are always a treat and "No, Di didn't win anything again this year". We did sing Happy Birthday to Blaire though!!! The trophies handed out for the dyno runs are always well received and our own Bob Simerly walked away with not one but TWO trophies!! Way to go Bob. The only thing left is the "Goodbye" breakfast and we said our goodbyes tonight as I'm not sure I will make the early breakfast. See you all next year. Diana

You that didn't go. Missed a great one as this year, it was short on both venders and participants, but it one of the best of the four that we have been to. We even got to see Joe broken down out side the RV park. Di. can fill in the rest but I thought I would put in my 2 cents worth Harry

Fellow TDRers,

Vivian and I are back home now. We had a wonderful time seeing old friends and making new ones. Special thanks to Joe and Nancy for all their efforts in hosting this huge event. Also important to recognize the vendors who take time from thier busy schedules to come support the TDR: Harold (BD), Brad (FASS), Brandon (Genos), Bob (Bob's hoses), Di/Dutch, Peter, the quilting folks and Chrysler. It was particularly nice to see Larry and Denise, long time friends who we met through the TDR in Maryland.

Vivian and I wish everyone a safe trip home and we hope we can make it next year.

Happy trails,

Wiredawg (Ron and Viv)

I'll probably relate the story in the next issue of the TDR. It turns out that FASS's vendor who aluminum hard anodizes the gear housings screwed up sometimes. FASS is now using a different supplier and getting the hard coat certified. With the big CP3, I run 45 lb. pressure and that loads the gear more. It wore into the aluminum, more load meant more amp draw on the motor, and a fuse blew. FASS is going to replace the housing with a new one under warranty. No big deal as I carry a spare FASS pump since I go on long trips, etc. I also got Jed Clampet and his properly valved Ram (12 intakes, 12 exhausts) to pull me to the side of the road :) how cool is that? lol

Joe I thought you had one of them there PHD's, they should have started with the basics on what is right and wrong when it comes to the proper number of valves !!!! :D I could have had you back in half the time with the proper amount of valves you trader. :-laf

Yeah, Blair, yer right. I am a trader--but not a traitor, lol. Someday you too will learn the Nowel principle--12 valves is the correct, proper, ideal number for each side of the engine. :)
