Wondering if it would be worth it to me to come all the way from Vermont to Pahrump for the event! What actually goes on at these events? What kind of vendors do they have? Are there vendors that do performance installs, such as fuel pumps, filters, injectors? Not sure if that is the type of place I would want to have those things done, warranty issues, etc.

I would love to come just for the fun of it, but it would be a long, expensive trip. It would be nice though as I could also see friends in the area from when I worked out there. Used to ride the motorcycle to Pahrump for breakfast and then go thru Death Valley, really enjoyed that trip. Very pretty when the desert blooms in the spring time.

Thanks for any info. Thought you guys that have been there before could give some insight as to how much fun it might be!

What do you say, I'm sure some of you guys have been to May Madness before! Would just like to know a little bit about it. Almost a week, there must be a lot going on, huh?

I read your post but figured it was Joe Donnelly's to answer.

I have only attended one and that was almost three years ago so I don't know much but will tell you what I remember.

Yes, there were a few vendors. I don't remember anyone doing any installations there. There was a good program of presentations and several excellent learning experiences.

The economy is worse now and fuel costs are rising. You can guess as well as I can how this one will go this year.

PM Joe Donnelly and ask him for specifics.

Thanks Harvey, I've been stuck at home for over 2 years now. I guess I'm just looking for an excuse to take a nice trip/vacation.

Just wondering how big this event might be, thought it could be a lot of fun. Yes, I was thinking of messaging Joe Donnelly, but thought it would be better to ask others first. I have seen the registration site, but would really like to see some type of itinerary or list of presentations. Will wait a little longer and see if any others might respond.

Thanks again.

I'm surprised someone else hasn't answered. Lots of TDR members go every year and have been attending for years.

This will be our 7th May Madness both as Dodge owners and Vendors. We always have a great time. There are pot lucks; a Round table discussion session from some of the major vendors, a greet and meet sandwich "do" put on by Trudeau Dodge. Dodge district people are there so we can ask questions and get up to date information.
The vendor "Hall of Gottahavits" was reduced several years ago to the last 2 1/2 days instead of throughout the whole rally. This allowed people to do more during the day and the vendors who wished to not come for the whole rally could still attend. If memory serves there were at least 10 vendors last year. It does vary from time to time depending on vendor commitments.
There is also a safety day where informational talks are held and there are also vendor seminars throughout the rally.
They have a Show N Shine to show your trucks and several other truck related gatherings and have had Dyno Days so the guys & gals could "strut their stuff". They usually have races back in Vegas but haven't heard yet, if they are having that this year.
They usually try to offer a day trip so people can get away for a bit. There is always the banquet on Saturday night: great food, door prizes, trophies and lots of talk and laughing.
We wouldn't miss it. Hope to see you there. Diana

Diana, that's what I was looking for, thanks. Will you be a Vendor? What other type of Vendors are usually there?

One week is a long time, they must put on a lot of seminars? Do you have to register for these beforehand or are they pretty much "walk in"?

It would be a long, expensive trip but I am seriously considering it as I have the vacation time saved up and I haven't taken a vacation in a couple of years. It's just that the money for the trip could go a long way toward a Goerend transmission upgrade! Still thinkin'.

Yep, we'll be there with bells on. Wouldn't miss it. I can name a few, but hopefully Nancy or Joe can chime in and round out the list. The ones I'm mentioning were there last year: FASS systems, Mr. Bob, BD, Geno's, US, Mark at Amsoil, jeez, I have a hard time remembering yesterday let alone 9 months ago LOL! They did have 2 tables that had things non Dodge related maybe for the gals who just aren't into trucks.
It seems to me there was a pretty big seminar schedule in addition to the Safety Day talks. You don't to register beforehand to attend a seminar. We've slipped into several when we had a chance. Don't hold me to this but I think the seminars start on Wednesday??
Yea, it's hard sometimes to decide where to put your money but for us it's a no brainer!!! Diana

Drags will be Wednesday night, dyno on Thursday. Installations can be arranged. Pre-registrations are significantly stronger this year than they have been in the past three years. Should have at least 200 trucks in attendance. I towed my Olds from Las Vegas to Massachusetts last summer for the Olds Club show. It was worth it for me, but maybe not for someone else. I expecct it is like that for May Madness. If you don't drive, you could fly and rent a car cheap in Vegas. Or, go to the Cummins open house/TDR meet June 10 in Columbus, IN if you decide Nevada is too far.

We have a lot of folks who come every year and wouldn't miss May Madness. I just can't say if Vermont is close enough; of course you could move to Vegas where home prices are quite low these days :)

Thanks for the info Joe, I have pretty much decided to make the trip. I have friends I can visit in Vegas as well as in Denver on the way out. Sounds like May Madness will be very interesting and a lot of fun. I plan on bringing my bike and doing some riding while there. Looking forward to meeting other TDR members.

It would be best to first register for the event either by mail before 4/16 or in Pahrump. You can go to the Wednesday Night Drags at LVMS with or without registering for the show, but the best e. t. trophy, and dyno trophies, go to attendees of May Madness only.

Go to the TDR Home Page, near the top is a link to this years May Madness where you will find a description of the event as well as a registration form you can print out to mail.

See you there!

I would check with Joe Donnelley or Nancy Simerly. They are very involved in the vendors and all other areas. If you need contact info for them let us know. Diana
