It's 5 weeks to May Madness and the dyno event of the year. Here are some predictions, questions, and comments :D

1. Christian of BD Power will foresake his trusty 733 hp ride and bring a 2003 Ram. Who knows how much stuff he can cram under that hood :rolleyes:

2. Nowel (HVAC) has 650 hp shown on his website, 648 in his signature elsewhere, but a "mere" 634 on his TDR signature. Now doubt he plans to pull poor old Sickly into the fray with this meager margin over Sickly's 633. 8 hp. Surely he has a few more ponies hidden to crush the opposition, but can his Ram stay clean and drug free?

3. Diesel Dynamics has sold the Blue Bomber 24 valve/P-pump truck (787 hp with nitrous). What violence lurks within the heart of the new blue 2003?

4. Cumminstrokin (Jim) has said nothing since getting 626 hp with Diesel Dynamics injectors and pump on his twin-turboed ride. That diesel-only figure is complemented by his 731 hp last year with propane and nitrous at MM02. Surely he is good for 650 on #2 and 750+ with "additives. "

5. ATS of Denver has a 2003 with THREE turbos and several other trucks. They have promised us some action on the dyno.

6. Will any midwestern trucks show up? Do they have any horsepower? Other than competition from Stacked-n-Jacked's Ram, I predict the western trucks are safe ;)

7. Piers has developed lazer cut, high-flow, "stupid" fueling stuff with a pump so big you drain the fuel tank on one dyno pass :D

He has new turbos that flow air and spool up, according to recent posts. He has been known to use a lot of turbos on an engine What will the scourge of the north have on the dyno? Can he break through the 600 barrier? :eek:

8. Poor old Sickly has been dynoing at 605-610 hp best, even with big injectors having [censored] and [censored] done to them. If he does not get a chance to cool down before dynoing, will he even be in the 600s with that tired old original short block. 150,000 miles on the rings and bearings sure is scary. AFter the HX55 "lag pig" how can he spool up a turbo that is 50% bigger? I predict that unless I get time to change the engine, Sickly won't be in the 600s this time. :(

9. Who will be the dyno king this time, and will anyone get 650 hp or better on diesel fuel? Which engine flows and makes the power, undervalved or overvalved? Oo.

Remember what day this is, and figure out where we go from here :-{}

HEH!

NONE of those WIMPS above stand a chance against all the deep-secret underhood advancements incorporated into MY '02 competition smasher! :p ;) :D

So, what's the deal on the dyno setup - what type, how much to run, and how many runs for the price of admission?

Better let ME run last - hate to break the dern dyno with all my raw power, and spoil the day for all those WEAKER trucks... ;)

Around $45-50, Dynojet 248C.

I predict My6eatsV8s will get into the 600s with his Bell Turbos.

I also forgot Maddog and his [{I can't say it]} with the Cummins 12 valve transplanted, twin turbos, etc. etc. Predictions were for 725 hp. Imagine the howling if the hated-competitor brand truck won MM, even with a righteous, correctly-valved Cummins in it :eek:

More Horsepower

Not sure if Adam will be coming. I'm sure he'd do well on the dyno if he did.

I may have to take out my small 650 hp XXXL injectors and install the XXXXL Performance Diesel injectors:eek: :cool:

BTW, I have a new Nos system on now. We have tacked the head to the block just in case:D

I'm gonna set up a gas mask rental concession there for folks allergic to smoke - might be able to finance the trip with the proceeds... :-laf :-laf :-laf

Might also rent out waders so folks can navigate thru all the BS prior to the dyno runs... ;)

My moneys on MADDOG. Richard is making some really big HP numbers. Now all he has to do is get his Trans to like it and he'll be set... .

Hybrid "95 CC

I might let Richard win drawson, so he doesn't head butt the dyno screen again:D

So, we can pencil you in for this year eh Dee?

Nowell, As of right now I am planning on coming down thursday night. Hopefully all goes as planned...

Good Deal

Dee, we will have to mass the troops Thursday night for chow:p

While I have yet to see a cow or a steer in Vegas, we did have a good meal at the "Black Angus". If Richard has a bad day on Friday (on the dyno) you won't want to be around him. He kinda snaps his teeth like a doberman and is generally not personable. I recall him erasing my dyno charts and reconfiguring them with a 100 hp lower figure:eek:

Cold Cuts

OK Joe, we will devour the cold cuts and then head out to dindin :D

We need an excuse to travel 'cross town anyway. Especially if Piers rents a car again. Last time he pretty well flogged the Impala rentacar as we messed with "ElkBowhunter's" dad in his new 275 horse rated PSD. Oo. It was a near death experience:eek: :cool:

It's been a real hoot reading posts on other forums from a few vocal wannabes. :D They are preparing their excuses already for not attending May Madness. :rolleyes:

(1) Dynojets are junk; (2) Western correction factors are too big and the numbers are manipulated; (3) egt gauges should be buried [past 1600 deg] any time power is used; (4)Westerners don't have enough fueling; (5) only the East knows how to port heads and get more power.

:--)

Perhaps they should round out the list of excuses:

1. I left my good injectors home.

2. I don't have the good pump on, to get more mileage on the trip.

3. My good turbos aren't ready yet.

4. I don't believe in dynos, I have useable horsepower because my truck smokes a lot.

:-{}

Meanwhile, a lot of high horsepower trucks will be playing together on the dyno at May Madness. It should be quite a show to watch. And, I predict good sportsmanship among the participants, none of that :-{}

I think if I get there early enough I will be in the top spot or at least the top 10... . for a little while if I am 1st to spin the rollers!!

Would that make the east coast better than the west or midwest?
