Piers didn't get to do much of anything. He was just finishing off his head machining before installing it and discovered a bunch of cracks in it. "Thats after the machine shop said it was in good shape to be 'ringed' etc. " So, they swapped a 1st Gen head, ported it (1st Gen heads don't breath as good as 2nd Gens) and put it on late, the night before leaving town.
Just past Seattle,on the way done to MM, he decided to check under the hood for a look see, cause he thought he smelled coolant.
Apparently every plug in the head was either seeping or outright leaking coolant.
He had to take it easy just to get down and back. There was no way he wanted to do any "runs" and have a bagged head in the middle of MM with a long drive home.
He was really PO'd to say the least since that was the second head that was supposed to be "alright".
