PW, I'm just going by what they said to me today. The original commitment was for 1. 5 days. I believe the intent behind this time extension was to help the high hp folks to sort out their "real" or at least "comparative" hp vs. other dynos. As Keith L of DD suggested some time ago, the only way to settle things was with one dyno, one time period. Everyone runs and then knows how they stand at least relative to each other, and at that point in time. There has been a lot of controversy about the validity of dyno numbers from different equipment, altitudes, etc. and it will settle a lot of questions if the "competitors" can get together--one place, one dyno, one time--and on a dyno that has given clean, reproducible measurements on Rams up to and including the 700 hp range.
DD has a business to run too, and can't stop working for all the days of May Madness. Sorry. Also, if we allocate all the days to dyno testing, there will be time for nothing else. We paid a lot of $ to rent the sled, for example, and I wonder if the "big guns" or "big talkers" from the midwest are going to come and show us "how"

Who knows, a "low" hp Ram (which one of them calls a "California Ram" could be the king of the sled by default! Then you could stand up to the Muncie boys and say you won first place, why didn't they
There is no particular controversy surrounding the "lower" hp Rams, and if one can't come during the set time period in MM, there are Silver State Motorsports in North Las Vegas (in the Speedway Complex, with the same model Dynojet), other dynos/locations, and maybe sliding in at DD on a non-interfering basis.
Diesel Dynamics is donating the dyno time and their expertise for approximately two solid business days. Dyno pulls usually cost $50 to $100. I am grateful for their contribution to our Rally, and respect their need to restrict the time frame they can donate.
