Don't laugh to hard. I just like to know, what will need to be change, if you want to make 01 engine same like 03 ? And, if will be possible do this upgrade ?

M

:D Lots of $$$$. If you got enough $$$$ to do it this way you got enough to buy new truck. They is a big difference in this one and the one I started with in 91>95-lot better>98-better>00-better +++>03-it don't get much better than this. These are just my opinions with the ones I have had.

Did anyone see Two Guys Garage a few weeks ago? They had a cut away HO CTD. Looking at it, I'd say a new motor is what you need to get the 01 motor like an 03. Very different internal parts for the oil cooled pistons... Among other things like fuel rail, etc.

It's 40% new parts (or was it 60%?). I don't think the heads are interchangeable either. The bottom end is stiffened up with an oil pan or mains girdle or something. Like the Cummins had a problem with weak bottom ends

The block itself is different. Don't even bother trying. It'd be a complete engine swap, and you'd have to deal with all the supporting computers as well.

By the way, for a CTD owner there are no stupid questions.

Now the ferd and chubby guys... well it wasn't so much the question as the answere that got them in trouble! ;)
