200,000 miles on my 89 4- Runner and still going strong with no major work!! No leaks, doesn't burn oil and still gets 21. 5 MPG!!Oo.

OMFG!!!!:--) That is freakin awesome!!! I was laughing my ass off but at the same time that is just unbelievable... too bad all trucks arent built that way anymore!!

I have to agree that Toyota's are very damn tuff. My first truck was a 93 Toyota 4x4 that I raised 4"/Front 3"/Rear and put 33's on about a year after I got it. It was a hand me down from dad when I turned 16 complete with 109,XXX HARD unmaintained miles and a freshly rebuilt transmission. Over there course of the 2 years that I drove it as my daily driver I four wheeled the **** outta it and NEVER broke anything 4-wheeling with 33's and a slushbox! however I did toast the transmission fluid doing donuts one time and that cost me a day without OD. It only left me stranded once too and that was said to be because of a coil wire that my mechanic tapped into while installing my aftermarket tach. The same mechanic said it caused the coil to fail

They are undoubtedly very strong trucks, and I would love to have another to 4-wheel with however I will stick to my CTD for everything else!

Here's a picture of the old warrior! I sold it shortly after my 18th birthday and bought my Ram. Sometimes I wonder where the 'ol girl is cause we sold it just across the KY line @ a car auction. If I could come up with the VIN could it be possible to find out where it is

The Japs makes a good solid truck.

I can't get the link to go either. My RealPlayer must be out of date.

My last 4 truck's: '85 Nissan 4X4 PU, 95' 4X4 Pathfinder, 2002 4X4 TRD Tacoma , 2003 Ram CTD SO auto 4X4.

They were all built really well including the Ram but the Ram's are really too heavy for off-roading in stock form. I think that is what makes the Jap trucks better, the whole package is well designed for serious off-roading. Dodge needs to offer a similar package as the Toyota TRD package. The Nissan's and the Toyota I had were very reliable. I had never been stranded by any of them. The Nissans were a little underpowered for the mountains though and none of them would be good for pulling a decent size trailer.

I don't like the styling of the Tundra but I would have considered one if they had a four-dour with a diesel. A great combo would be to take one of those three liter 4 cyl. Isuzu motors they put in the cab-over trucks and drop it in a Tacoma. I rented one of the Isuzu trucks with a 17FT box, loaded it with engines, tools, etc. from the garage, and towed my GTO from Chicago to Denver and that truck never struggled to pull a grade.

Here's my current daily driver since I can't afford the ram I want... (intense blue 6 speed 2nd gen 4x4 QCab, short bed)
