Have a question for the group.

Im looking into installing an MBRP replacement muffler and was wondering how much the noise level would increase above stock.

Truck is a stock 05. No boxs or any other enhancements.

Thanks.

When I first put mine on it still had the cat in front of it so it wasn't to loud until you mashed the go peddle. Just riding down the highway it sounded stock until you went under a bridge or something that would bounce the sound back. When I pulled the cat she picked up a lot of noise, now it sounds like a big rig rolling down the road. Below 70MPH it's not to bad but if you put a load behind her it gets real loud. Hope that helps. . ROB

I put one on my old 04. 5 and the 06, sounds almost stock until you really get on it then it has a deep tone but not really loud. I like the sound, both mine had the cat still in place. No drone towing several different trailers between 6k up to 15k pounds.

I put a 4" turbo back MBRP on my '98, replacing the stock and Banks Cat-back that was on it. It was much louder! I then added a 4" cat from a '06 and it quieted down some but was/is still louder than the Banks and quite a bit louder than the stock. I have the truck for sale and am considerring re-installing the Banks and stock downpipe and cat to make it more acceptable to potential buyers.

With the cat there isn't much difference at all!

Thanks for the responses.

Replacing the muffler was all I want to do.

Dont plan on gutting the cat.

Maybe change the intake to a ATS but not sure yet.

The money tree I planted when I got the truck hasnt grown enough yet.

DRONE... ..... and she will be loud all the time... ... ... IN and OUT. I put on the MBRP cat-back system and I get some drone mashing on it, but driving normally I only get a little drone on acceleration.
