I've got a bad case of the "I Shouldas" and now wish I'd gone with the DRW on my 06 MC (due to timing issues, I just couldn't resist the deal on the one in stock). Does anyone have (or know someone) with an interest in going to SRW for a swap? I've got 19k on mine and its been treated with kid gloves since new.

Or, since this may be a hard find, do you think a salvage dealer would swap out?

I wouldn't go through all the trouble of swapping with someone for a dually. The GVW of the dually is only 10,500lb, which is only 600lb higher then your truck. Since the dually weighs more, the actual GVW increase will be less then 500lbs. If you are going to be overloaded with your 3500 SWR, technically you'll most likely be overloaded with a Megacab dually as well.

I wouldn't worry too much about overloading your 3500, as long as you are not over the tire ratings, you should be fine.

Dodge really dropped the ball with the Megacab dually, as there is nothing mega at all about its rated payload capacity.

That's part of it. I like the stability of the duals when I haul heavy (most of my hauls aren't though), but I have to admit about half of the reason is the way they look. Still contemplating checking salvage for some bed take-offs and axel swaps because I know I'd take a beating on a trade.

Stability is between the frame and axles... unless you want the outriggers for preventing "blow over" in high wind. George

Stability also has a lot to do with sidewall flex and the difference of sitting on 2 tires or 4. Anybody who has loaded a truck heavy, or followed a heavily loaded truck knows this.
