I run a McLeod clutch in my race car and it is a quality product. I can get a really good deal on their clutch for my truck.

Have any of you run this clutch? I was leaning towards the

Mu 13 1. 375 con ofe from Southbend.

Comments?

Thanks Rod

It seems I have heard the Mccloud clutch may not work in our trucks as good as might be expected, some one hopefully will jump in with some facts on that. The South Bend clutches just cant be beat for doing what they are supposed to and the customer service is wonderful and they are really nice folks too. My Con O from SBC is rated at 350hp and so far has no problem with 417hp and others have had the same good results.

I've had my McLeod dual disk street in since Jan. 2001. Works great and holds what I have ( see sig. ).

Scott thanks for the reply. How is it for backing up does it tend to grab and chatter? I want something that is smooth engaging for backing up the trailer.

Thanks, Rod

No problems with the engagement or holding abilities with my McLeod. However, I did snap the input shaft a while back using the McLeod. Some say that this can be caused by the unsprung hub. It also took out my front bearing retainer on the transmission and bent both discs. I put it back together again with new McLeod clutch discs and new transmission parts from Standard Transmission. I also added a valet switch to tone down the power. :D :D

edit:

I also pull a 13,500 pound fifth wheel and it backs up fine, no chatter.
