Impromptu dyno sesh in Tacoma

Norcal Diesel Rally 2002!!!!!

Just got back from the gathering, great turnout, great weather, lots of great trucks. I never got a complete count but there must have been around 50 Cummins powered Rams, a majority of which were driven my Mason Dixon TDR members.

Big thanks to Hammer for coordinating the MD TDR activities with the Cummins folks.

Thanks to Cummins Powersystems for hosting the event. They provided breakfast and lunch as well prizes and technical talks. Their parts counter was open for business and they were selling parts at dealer cost.

Good to see all the regulars and to meet new folks. Special thanks to the Northeast and North Carolina guys who drove a long way to attend the event.

Just checked in

903 miles and 15hrs driving time, man that was a long trip.

Great to see all different rams and some new faces. Nice to meet Hammer. Well I guess it was worth it for me:) Wife won a sweater and Cummins cup. I got to take the prise for nice and shine look;) It was worth getting that ram from top of blocks in garage and 5 days of cleaning and wax:rolleyes: Northeast bombers really had a ball in those tunnels, man they were smoky.

Best of trip Massdiesel got to test his truck and stuff against a PowerChoker, boy was he in for a surprise:D :D :D Caught a pretty good stretch of highway and that Stroker was chocking:D Got talking to the guy on cb and he replied. " Boy what you got under that hood? them gauges really make them Dodges go fast"

We had a good laugh:rolleyes:

See you all next time if not sooner

3rd Event Best Yet

Hammer:

Thanks for the all hard work setting up and organizing this great event. Viv and I had a wonderful time. Super Effort! Also, we all pray your mom will have a speedy recovery.

All:

Although just a few months old, we've managed to have three really nice events. Our group is growing larger and we are having great participation. You are all a great bunch off folks, who I look forward to having great times with ahead.

Power Systems:

Thanks for all the hospitality, the food, the seminars and the great prizes. I was already a customer and have found these folks to be a quality repair facility which I highly recommend. My hats off to this first class establishment.

Happy trails everyone,

Wiredawg

Hey all, this was my first gathering with like minded diesel guys(and gals). Thanks to Hammer for all of his effort and time getting this set up. Hope to see all of y'all again soon. Maybe we could plan on getting together in the spring for the mopar meet at mason-dixon dragway(May I think). Show some people how good these "smelly diesels"run ;) :D . Doug P. S. I also enjoyed being part of the Cummins convoy. :)

Back Home at last

Well I made it home boys & girls. What a long drive in one day. I must [read "am"] be getting old. Only 16+ hrs behind the wheel out of 24 and I'm "wore out". What can I say about the Cummins guys? I only wish I lived closer, super people. The tunnel was way KOOL!

I would do it all over again just for that. It’s a good thing I don’t live near that damn thing. I think I could get addicted to it. WaaaaaaatWaaaaa :D

Glad I don't owne a powerchoke. cough, gag, choke!! Scotty sure is hard on them. Can't watie to get my hands on those smokers and a transmission to go with them!!!

Thanks to all who helped get it together, ought to be an annual gathering of the clans thing & maybe two days too. I just didn't have enough time to meet and enjoy everybody.

MD TDR

What a showing we had 50 trucks show up and some had to drive a long way and some had to follow Hammer on the scenic route :D It was good to see everyone again and meet new TDR members from up north and down south thanks for making the long drive.

A big THANKS to Hammer and everyone who set this up and thanks to Cummins for having us it was fun. Worth staying up for 28 hours.

:D is still on my face after winning the first Palm VIIx, the Show and shine for two wheel drive stock class, and getting lucky in the drawing winning a T-shirt.

Hammer I will buy you dinner for setting this up. I had a blast.

Also speaking of Flowerpokes. I was able to smoke screen one on the way home. He was not trying to race, just hanging on my tail. He backed off.

Ken

Ken, you are banned from any future contests offering prizes. :D :D Three times in one day is amazing! The event was a big success and it was great seeing everyone again. Thanks to all that made it happen.

Thanks to All

Everyone,

Thanks for a great trip! Thanks to the Cummins folk for puttin on a good spread and making themselves available for endless questions.

Thanks to MASSDIESEL for putting a road trip together for the northeast TDR's. I gotta get a CB, man, I had a great time and still missed half the fun...

I wonder what that Tacoma driver thought when he found himself surrounded by diesel rams at 6:00AM? And the tunnel was a blast, the sound and the smoke was awesome!! Plus I gotta give that Powerstroke driver a lot of credit--he was really cool about the whole thing.

To top it off, I broke through 20mpg for the first time, my previous best was about 18. 5.

Here's to the next one!

Matt

Thanks All!

Thanks to every TDRer and Cummins Power Systems employee for the great time. The MD TDR chapter is very addictive, and it is easy to see why... . nothing but nice folks :) One of our friends showed up just to see what was going on and left a new member of our chapter and was off to join here too :D

Just put on my new MD TDR logo, looks proud!

Thanks again,

Russell

Well let me start by saying THANKS to all who came from all over to participate In Glen Burnie,,I'd say we had a slobberknocker of a show,,To the NE gang we had come down,a thanks is also in order to them as I know how long a ride you had,,To our adopted sons from NC,Wes and Dave, thanks to you also hope we keep seeing you,,A hearty thanks to the Cummins Glen Burnie group for a nice show and all the hospitality,I look forward to doing it again,,M-D TDR members ,thanks to you guys also,I enjoy each time we get together and it just keeps getting better each time,,Now if at one of these things I can get a chance to look at all the trucks I'll feel like I'd accomplished something I always seem to miss one or two,,Hey Fred, don't let them guys of yours bust your chops too much, that is one righteous ride you have,LOVE THAT SHINE!!,,I better get to a map reading 101 class or some of my group will not let me live the lost thing down,,Ok,So I did give a few members a TOUR of TWO different industrial parks and slightly speed over a few railroad tracks which nearly caused a few accidents,we still made it(good thing you guys had fueled up before we left),,These get togethers keep getting better and we are growing as a group by leaps and bounds,,Hope all the members hide Cliff's address or when the stack purchases begin he might be in trouble(he he he he he),,Also now let me not forget this, did ANYONE see what Cliff or Ken stepped in on their way to register???,,How about a 30 day no win grace period for these two characters??,,Well I do not want to seem like I'm to windy so I'll close with this,,Every time I work on one of these things, shows, I am amazed at the turnouts and the great people they bring, just goes to show what a class act TDR members are,,Been a tough day so off I go for some much needed rest,,Again, Thanks to all who participated on Saturday,my hats are off to all of you... ... ... Andy

P. S. =I appreciate the kind thoughts for my mother and her health from everyone, kinda just shows how great of a group we have. . One last thing and I'll really go,,Do not forget to keep COBRA's wife in your thoughts as she is very ill also and needs our prayers too... .

Thanks isn't enough

Just got back to work so I could jump on the computer. Mine at home won't log onto the TDR anymore:( (some glitch, maybe my wife figured out how to block it:eek: ), and all I can say is thanks just can't cover it all. I just can't believe the turn-out we had. I am utterly impressed with the devotion to the group. I believe that after the meet the Mason Dixon Chapter membership has exceeded forty members, not counting our newly adopted Northern members from NJ, Del, Conn, RI and Mass and we have only been in existence since August. Hope I didn't leave anyone out. The Cummins Power Store people were fantastic and they are going to do this again next year I was told. For those of you who didn't get to go in the back room, I got to see there minnie cummins racer (runs on nitro methane ) and it was awesome. I took some pictures and will post them later today. I will also post pictures of all the trucks I took. Hammer, you did an admirable job and my family's prayers are with your family for your mother and with Cobra's for his wife. Did everyone get to see the wooden shifter knob prototypes that Wes had with him and give him some feedback? Well I guess I had better get back to real work for a while.
