Heh, guess I'm lucky. :) Despite ordering as late as 8/7, mine's the only 2003 HD ordered at my dealership. . When it shows up, I'll know it. :D

Doh.

Called today and my truck is "on hold" (BGL I think. . I think I was talking to a trainee or something that couldn't understand the words "what code is it?") because they ran out of Graphite Metallic paint.

Sigh.

My truck is built and awaiting shipment. Still 2-3 weeks out, since it takes that long to get from Mexico to Illinois. Not on rail car yet so I can't track it. The closer I get to having it, the harder the wait is.

Hey,

Our dealership has tried numerous times to order me a 1ton HO with duallies, fully loaded AND with the almond paint. Seems this order will not go through because where-ever they make this particular truck, doesn't have the almond paint. I could have personally driven a load of this paint to the factory, even if it was in Mexico, before now. Anyone else tried to order a 1 ton 3500 HO 4x4 with the almond color?

Must be a different almond pearl than on the 1500's, I sure see a lot of those around..... or maybe that's where it all went... :D

On order Aug. 26 and it only took 2 hours. What an experience!

I had a message on my answering machine sayiing that they had the prices available now so I could order.

I dropped everything, left work early, picked up the wife (she has the check book) and went down to the dealer to order.

We went to the computer and spec'd out the truck just the way I wanted it. Then the salesman had to take that info to another computer to get the price. Five minutes later he returned and said they were having problems and it might take a little longer. To make a long story short, we (the salesman, the manager, the dealer owner and I) spent the next hour + at the computer and on the phone with DC placeing the order.

Everytime we put a code in and it didn't come back the way it should we told DC, they did something on their end and we would try again. Maybe we helped get some of the bugs out. The priceing is done over the internet. We went to a web sit, typed in a password and bingo we were in. No, I didn't get the address or password  This is the first year for pricing this way for DC. It could be a precurser for us to be able to order on the Net. That would be nice.

Can't still be the paint???? I could have got it to Mexico by a slow mule by now. I certainly can understand your frustration, Dave. Hope they get it moving soon.

Casey

Nope, paint was taken care of almost a month ago when it went from BG to BX. Another guy in the forum was also held up because of the paint, his went BX the same time as me but then went D1 within a week or so. .

Guess I'm gonna call my dealer later.

BTW, I don't think I posted to your other thread. . But your truck looks great. Good luck keeping it clean. :D

My wife says she loves the truck. That is a first for her. She wanted black. Keeping it clean will keep me out of trouble and her happy. Oo. Besides, this is my fourth black truck and I am used to keeping a black truck clean. :D :D

auto select/de-select...

Dave,

Just went through the "Build Your Own" on the Dodge.com site and selected a 2500 4X4, SO 5. 9 w/ the 5-speed and trailer tow package and it took it.

You know, I almost hate to mention this, but you could always wait until after Jan 1st and get the new 48RE auto and the HO 5. 9 w/ the trailer tow package, too... Just a thought...

Your's in Ram-hood!

M. Bean :)

Well, I went and did it! I went back to the Dealer's today and ordered a 2003 QC 4X4 6-speed "Laramie" with all the goodies excluding the LS Diff and the side airbags! I am now looking forward to the build date!

JRG,

I don't think the "new" automatic is out yet. This would be a 48RE. The current ones are 47Re's. However, the newest version of the 47RE does keep the TCC locked when foot is released from go pedal till speed is reduced to about 35 MPH.

amsoilman,

I read in another thread that you test drove a 48re. Is this not true???

Hey Wayne, how soon is Amsoil going to have oil and air filters for the 03? We will need a new adapter for the BMK-15 also, because of the different oil filters.

Larry

JRG,

I did drive a "Hemi" powered Dodge with a 5-speed automatic, but I don't know if it was a 48RE transmission, it could have been. I would think if it were a 48RE, it would be seen in the Cummins powered trucks now. I can't see why DC would build two different 48RE transmissions, one for a Cummins and one for the Hemi.

Larry,

I'm sure Amsoil will get something going for this application, but I am going to use the BMK-11 (single) remote, so a new adapter will not be needed for me.

Mine has (will have) trailer tow already. I don't want the 48RE. As nice as it may be, it won't hold up to what I have in mind and I don't feel like taking a risk on a new transmission.

They do have it right on the Dodge site now, wonder if Chrome ever fixed their errors. .

Welp, things might finally be happening. I complained to my salesman, he called Dodge and the truck is on hold because of dealer allocation problems. . According to my salesman, that shouldn't be an issue on an ordered truck, just trucks for the lot (makes sense to me). So now the regional guy is getting involved, hopefully he can get my truck moving.

In the meantime, I have found this almost twin of my truck (mine's 4x4, this is 4x2) to drool over.

Getting closer, I hope. Oo.
