Well, progress I think. Someone needs to whack DC with a cluestick.

My truck's been sitting in BX because my dealer (not a big one by any measure) was only allocated 1 Ram HD per month.

I mean, come on. Why this applies to a sold ordered truck, I have no idea. It seems perfectly reasonable that a place that mainly sells 1500's shouldn't have a lot full of HD's sitting around rusting, but an ordered vehicle should be on top of the pile, regardless of what dealer it came from. My dealer's pretty annoyed, DC has been breathing down their neck to sell the new Rams and when they do, they won't build one.

So anyway, my order's been kicked so that it should go D1 wednesday. . I sure hope so. DC's not going to like their order satisfaction score card so far. #@$%!

. . To be continued.

Naturally, it's still BX.

But, now the dealership owner is mad and the DC zone manager is involved. Hopefully that will get some results.

What a mess. . Ordering my Jeep TJ back in mid '96 when they were very rare was less of a fiasco than this.

Oo.

Finally, it went D! :D I've got a VIN, and it's gonna be built the 2nd week of November. Maybe I'll have it in early December.

Whew. What an ordeal.

Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

New Rig

I did it too! Traded in the '02 auto clatter box for an '03

quad short 3500 6 spd. Thought I did very well on trade in

for 1yr and 22,000 mi. Told me I would have a 12 week lead

time on 9/25 when I ordered it. Called me yesterday and said

it would be shipping next Friday. Sorry if I sound all geeked,

but this is my first post and ready for my ride.

Anybody come up with some good names for vanity (personalized)

license plates that fit the "oil burner" classification? :D

I HAVE BRAINSTORMED A LIST OF POSSIBLE VANITY PLATE

NAMES,BUT AM LEANING TOWARDS "OILBRNR". LET ME KNOW IF ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE HAS SOME GOOD ONES, NOT ALREADY USED IN MICHIGAN. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW RIDEOo. SHOULD I PUT AN EXHAUST BRAKE ON 'ER?:D

That really is fast! I decided I had better call & check on my order & see where it was at. Ordered 9/29. They said it was at "D" status. Anyone know how long after this it takes to go to D1?

I ordered mine on 9-29, and was told yesterday it would be built the first week of November. 3/4 ton 4X4 HO/6-speed QC. with all the goodies. My current plates are:1GR8RAM.

EOwen - if you tow heavy at all, get an exhaust brake for sure. It's the best money I spent on my 2001. Both for towing safety and for cold weather warmups.

I'm going to have to wait on the exhaust brake on my 03 until I beef up the auto, I'm going to miss it. .

Status codes

I see you guys talking order "status codes" like D, D1, BX.

Is there a website or tracking number or something you can

check this without calling the dealer etc?

How long of a shipping time can expect from the date they

say it is shipped, to the date that it will arrive at my dealer?

My dealer just called to let me know that my truck will be here in 7 to 10 days.

Then a half day for prep and it's mine. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Christmas is early this year! And I feel like a kid again! Oo. Oo.

JD :) :) :D :)

The Great Pumpkin Lives!!

That was the shortest 10 days on record. I got a call this afternoon that my truck is here. Oo.

I'll pick it up 0900 Saturday.

All hail the great Pumpkin!:D Oo.

JD,

I'm happy for you! I'm looking fo mine as well. I ordered on Sept 29th. DC CSR said it is to be in the "shipping" mode on the 5th of this month,... ... ... ... ... ..... can hardly wait!

Thanks amsoilman,

I learned that my salesman, an old Navy man like myself, was trying to surprise me by having the truck here before I went to see my new grand-daughter in Virginia. If it wasn't for the Hurricane, which backed-up shipping, I would have had it by Oct. 12.

DC ships some vehicles into the Port of Pensacola which is 5 blocks south of where I work and about 20 miles from my dealer.

Milton Dodge in Milton, Fl. has been great to work with. Ask for Neal Zam.

JD

ps. Neal is getting the availability and price for the Jacobs Exaust Break for me. Will post when I get it.

pss. $1072 installed.
