I have been talking to someone about making injectors for my truck, and he asked about rack travel on my pump. Is this something I can measure myself?

Why does he need to know how much rack travel your pump has in order to make you a set of injectors?

That's an odd question.

It says in your signature that you have a 325cc pump that PDR worked over for you... I'd think that information would be a little more important than the rack travel...

Ron:

Call PDR, I bet they'll tell you what they usually have one set at. If it is top secret have your injector guy call them. I don't know their spec, but several vendors offer 300hp bolt on pumps that have about 16. 5mm of travel. Guru Joe Donnelly once wrote that he liked 18mm for a 215 pump. So I bet Piers is at 16 or better.

I had a pump calibrated recently (180hp. / 911 pump) that had 10. 3 :(. When we were done they had it at about 15. 3-5 with a (a #10 torq. plate and 3k springs). They wouldn't go anymore as they said they would be over the 10% on the high side of pump (read emmissions specs). It goes now and has very little smoke. . only at 7/8-100% throttle.

They are likely concerned about egt's and how much they fuel they are going to give you (with the injector).

Why not let Pier's or his staff help you with injectors? Something to be said for not "bas&^%izing" with everyone's parts. .

They are a great vendor.

Good luck

Andy
