Is there a different location to tap into the engine for a mechanical oil pressure gauge?(sending unit s**t the bed,too cheap to pay for new one)

oil pressure gauge

there is a plug on top of the oil filter where you can tap in for a gauge. I have my oil temp gauge in there. hope this helps.

let's see - oil gets real hot, hmmmm, maybe that's why we don't want a mechanical gauge in the cab with us? Sending unit is cheaper than cleaning an oil stained interior or a vist to the hospital - yes?

You'll also have to deal with that dinger every 5 minutes...

Better to just put a light set at 20PSI or so with a Hobbs switch... .

On top of the oil filter is an auxillary port. Called a test port. Just put a Hobbs switch at 20PSI and run a red light into the cab. Light on, check engine, light off, WOT.
