Aluminum Fuel Lines?

Gentlemen,

I am looking at a used F-600 (90-92 vintage) and need a little help determining which I-6 diesel the truck has. The seller said it was a cummins powered truck. I looked at the truck with a flashlight las night after dark (part of my problem) and noticed two things: 1) all under hood stickers had been removed or worn away, so there was no indication of which motor it was, and 2) the biggest thing that caught my attention was that the turbo was on the drivers side of the engine, opposite all our Cummins. This led me to speculate that I was looking at the old 6. 6L Brazilian diesel, but without any stickers etc, I cannot be sure either way. Are there any other distinguishing factors I can look for? Any help or input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

The 6. 6 has the Garrett turbo on the left side and the Bosch P-pump on the right. I'll bet the engine has some castings with identifying marks. They have a very large water pump housing centered on the front of the engine as well. I could look at one and let you know spacifics if you wish. I'd look at it during the daylight hours. Not a Cummins, no doubt.

You are definitely looking at the Brazilian diesel. An excellent choice if you need lackluster power, dismal parts availabilty, and a questionable useful life. They do however make wonderful anchors! Stay away friend, no price is good enough to make it a good deal.
