Mega Cab DRW - waste of $$

I hope not. I priced a full load mega shortbed dually and it was only 1300. 00 more then my 04 quad cab... and the mega had the sun roof and power rear slider. Fingers are crossed.

I sleep in my truck a lot hauling horses. You can't just get a motel like with other loads. I know they make living quarters in horse trailers, but it takes up too much space for making money!

local dealer has 0. 0 for 5 yrs on the MC dually- must be firm on sticker though I didn't call (my 03 QC suits me fine)

I would never have a short bed, I think they are worthless, unless you only plan on using it to deliver flowers to a furneral. I suppose a short bed dually can carry more weight, but how are you going to put more weight in a little bed?

Ever hear of a goose neck or fifth wheel trailer



One of these on a mega dually looks like a great option for me Oo.





BTW, some people tow/haul more than parade around.

I for one very rarely use my bed, except maybe for some junk, or a 4-wheeler at times.



If I have to haul something, it's on my 54' flatbed hydraulic dovetail trailer.

I made a mistake and bought a 6 ft bed one time and it was the only truck I have ever sold with only 30,000 miles on it,never again. I could'nt put my tool box in it and had to drop the tailgate to haul anything. I'v seen several where the trailer has gotten into the back of the cab. A good friend of mine gave a short bed a shot and the first time he backed his fiver up it hit the back passenger side. When he got it out of the body shop he traded it in for an 8 ft bed dually.

I wanted to trade my 04. 5 (2500) for a '06 QC 3500 SRW, and the dealer didn't seem to think it was worth anymore than $25000 in trade! An mine only has 12,600 miles. Guess I keep what I have,and maybe install a set of Timbrens.....

Does anyone know the Cab to Axle distance on the MC? How far behind the axle would the GN hitch be if you put a standard 8'6 flatbed on the MC dually?



It would probably look rediculous, and pop wheelies with 10 k on the rear axle. the SWB only option is a big letdown for those who need a big cab and cannot use a slider hitch.

You could forget to slide it and make a sharp turn.

I thought it was automatic but now I see the issue and how easy this could happen. I have trouble remembering to put my drain plug in the boat so this whole slide concept would be an issue with me.

The slider operation of the Pullrite hitch IS automatic.

Which goes back to my opening post as to why a QC dually is rated at 12,200 and the MC dually is only 10,500.

It is not the same truck. The geometry for towing and hauling is different. You can't even haul as much weight in the bed. The only thing that is the same is the length of frame and wheel base.

Exactly, and thats all that matters when hauling a goose.
