Ugly, Ugly, Ugly

I hate the new front end and what is up with the new cup holders? The ones in the current model are perfect, now you have this BS set up on the floor.

Dodge you have blown it on that model.

And one other thing, that center dash area is the pits, where is my cubby hole for my gauges? Boo to Dodge on this one, count me out, glad I just bought an 05 model.

I can't believe they got rid of the flat metal floor in the rear. I know it's a small thing, but that turns me off a little bit.

Otherwise, it's a neat idea. Can't wait to see more specs on it.

I don't know guys. This time last year I had a funny feeling that I had better get that new truck NOW! and I did what I had to do. It looks like what they did to the Durango/ Dak.

I don't like it personally. I think the cab looks too big. That sounds horrible since many members have been wanting a true crew cab for a long time. I am sure there is a ton of room but I think the Fords have a ton of room without the ugly oversized cab. I also do not like the redesigned front end. I was hoping they would not look like the dakotas and Durangos but oh well. I guess as long as they still have the CTD.

Just my . 02

I like the amount of rear legroom, but I think that extra chunk of sheet metal behind the rear windows to the end of the cab look like an afterthought or a compromise. Sitting in the rear seats it appears that if you turned your head to the side, you'd see the C pillar instead of looking out the window.

I kinda like the redesigned interior - the seats look more substantial and I missed the beige interior with "woodgrain" (plastic) dash inserts - I had to get the taupe (Grey) with stainless looking (plastic) inserts.

What I do not like is that they are cutting into the bed length!! I need a dang 8ft bed and room inside the cab... . what part of that is difficult to understand??

Quote; Yes, same bed as the existing shortbox trucks on the Quad/longbox frame.

Then that's too long a truck for me, I drove a 160" and it won't make it in NYC. That rear door/rear pillar treatment and the rear seat folding like a minivan's is the big (-) thing right now

The rear door/rear pillar treatment is the direct result of using an "off the shelf" 6 1/2 foot bed and an "off the shelf" LWB chassis. After they added a normal size rear door they created a pillar to fill in the space that was left.

Unproportional...

it makes everything on the truck look like it is NOT suppose to be there.

DC should've just went to the trouble and money to build a new frame. I think in the long run it would've saved them money. Seriously, who is gonna want to buy that UGLY thing.

The extra room behind the door looks like an add-on, instead of part of the truck. If it was only an extra inch or two like the 03-05 truck then it would look good. AND the doors would look PROPORTIONAL. The bed would still look funny though, being so short.

I hope in a few years DC finallly gets this right, because I'm gonna want a longbed then.

Done w/ the RANT

I don't like what they did w/ the front fenders and the lights. Looks like the durango and dakota which are ugly, that look still hasn't grown on me. But with a bug deflector and a grill guard, it may look better. It's obvious they are using the same doors and just lengthening the cab, it looks funny, especially w/ a short bed. They should just make a different, larger door for this model. Well, at least they are starting to get the idea, maybe we will only have to wait until 2010 to get a large cab, long bed dually. But by then, what do you want to bet they'll start using the Mercedes diesel?????

I definitely think those are NOT rear doors from a QC. I like the whole thing. That rear seat area is HUGE. It's just what the membership ordered! I like how rear seats actually recline a little. That's a good idea. I am glad I have an "old" 3rd gen however. They probably could've found a better place for the Cummins logo, but that's very minor.
