I like the Mega Cab because I sleep in my truck hauling horses all across the US. I'll see how the new motor pans out before I get rid of my '03 though ... ... ... ..... 225,000 plus and still tickin
That is the baddest stock looking truck I've ever seen. If they built that truck and put it on the market, I'd say it would dominate in sales. Sometimes I wander if there are laws against them building the perfect truck for the sake of the other companies sales going down too much. Cause everytime they come out with soemthing good like the mega cab, they always screw it up somehow like not offering the truck pictured. I'd like to know what it cost. I definately want one.
They would sell a ton of those. The last couple years would have been a perfect time to release them with the problems Ford has had with diesels since 03. I think Chevy took a lot of those buyers.
Could it really be that hard to strech the frame, add some more to the rear, and add a regular dually box to the truck? Is there a reason this wouldn't be fairly simple or does it have more to do with cutting up a $40+ truck.
They can't build it now! I already got the Mega SB and can't get another truck for years! :{ Seriously, they'd have to get the carrying capacity and towing capacity up to compete with FoMoCo and GM. The Mega's strong suit is not capacity in the bed.
Yep, the bed length is one piece of the puzzle. Until they get the GVWR and GCWR competitive, though, they don't have a product that meets my needs (towing heavy RVs).
That trucks is a really nice conversion truck. The guy who builds them is on the east coast somewere, I think. I will post his name once I remember it.
I saw one of these rolling down the road about 2 weeks ago. It was silver and had the 03-05 style front end. My dad has a silver '04. 5 CC DRW and about crapped when he saw this one.
Before I got my Mega 3500, I was considering buying a 4500 or 5500 Mega cab chassis and buying a long bed from Dodge and installing it on the cab chassis. Now that would be sweet.
