I've got about 6K on mine. Around town I get 15 to 16mpg and just did a long trip and got 18. 6 mpg which I hope will go up once completely broken in and using synthetic motor oil.

I'm at 11,500 now. After a 3700mile tow from San Diego to Topeka last month with an all-up weight of 15,000 with a 22 ft bumper pull I'm getting

17mpg on my daily communte of 80+ miles at 65-70mpg and 70% freeway.

On the previously mentioned trip we averaged 12mpg with the cruise set at

73-75mph most of the time (except in Kalifornia where it was more like 62).

Iit is hard to argue with even more room. You will need nerf bars or steps to help get in the cab especially for the kids.

I got some AMP retractable steps and wired them to switches on the steering column so I can disable them when I don't have passengers.

The trip was made with 3 friends (all guys). The 2 in back stretched out, fired up their wi-fi enabled laptops and got comfy while I drove. Nobody complained about comfort. When one of them drove a 3 hour stretch when I was tired. He was heard to say "My God; I don't even like trucks, but this thing is awesome!" If you are going to tow a fair amount get the DRW setup. It was rock steady all the way. Nothing bothered it.

So far it has been a great truck, I thought my Ford drove great but this truck drives and rides better than many cars I have driven. Very quiet and very little or no road noise. This may upset some, but I didn't realize how much I would like the quietness of the common rail injection.

Ditto above; VERY quiet. I love it. As to the handling, anything is better than what Ford puts on their front ends, but this thing is great. Not like my 03 QC 1500, but great for a 3500 anything.

The tow mirror issue is probably a matter of personal preference since I'm used to the other mirrors that were on my Ford. I just can't seem to see with them as well for some reason.

I added some extra spot mirrors that I liked to supplement the ones that are stock, which didn't seem to show the things I like to see; another personal preference.

All in all I'm very happy with the truck and I love the Cummins diesel way more than the 7. 3l Powerstroke. It tows my boat MUCH more easily and is a real pleasure to drive. In fact I sometimes look for reasons to take it for a little drive just to hear that Cummins rumblin'. If the whole package gives me as good of service as my Ford did I'll very happy.

Another DITTO; spectacular launch torque (the antistall feature with the 6 speed is awesome to watch work) and pulls loads and hills like they aren't there. I also sometimes roll the windows down and turn off the radio during my early morning commute when I'm in the "intown" part of the drive

just to listen to the engine. My 6 speed is not an issue around town like you would think unless you do a LOT of city driving. I like my gearbox to do what I tell it not the other way around.

Unless you just HAVE TO HAVE a long bed I don't think you will regret the MC.

If you have people in the back often, they will thank you.

I vote for loving it. 6'5" 310 pound son-in-law has no problems in back seats. With the AMP Research steps, 85 year old mother-in-law can get in without a step stool. Wife and grandkids love to sit in the back seat to watch the DVD on trips. A little better mileage than some of the other posts but I try to keep it at 1,800 to 1,850 RPM on the highway.

Just did a 220 mile round trip unloaded traveling between 65 and 75 mph and got 19. 2 mpg. All the fuel numbers I gave were done with a calculator not by the overhead console. The overhead console has been consistently 1 to 1. 5 mpg less than actual and burning ultralow sulfur diesel.

Love the truck as far as room, ride, and dependability. Hate the mileage though. I understand I only have 5,000 and it should improve over time but 11-12 city and 16-18 highway is way lower than other Megacab owners post on here and other sites. I wonder if there's something wrong with my truck or if most people exaggerate theirs. Judging by owners I've talked to and reading different Dodge sites the average seems to be 14-16 city and 17-20 highway. And yes I drive like a grandma and my tires are up to 80 p. s. i.

Have you tried lowering your tire pressure to 50psi? This seems to be normal based on other posts I've read. One post preferred 50psi front, 45psi rear. No load @ 80 psi you could well be losing traction, and wearing the tire tread to boot. I know for a fact that your ride will improve at the lower pressure. 11,000 miles on mine. I keep a log. 50/50 driving I have averaged 16. 68 mpg. Quick calculations (light) 14. 5mpg, all highway 19. 0 mpg. I expect this to improve when I switch to Amsoil at 20k or so. Note: I find my boost gage to be a valuable tool to maximize fuel economy. Feather the acelerator to minimize the boost (air = fuel).

Note to all: I love my Megacab, and more important, my wife loves it. Most comfortable seats of any truck I have owned. Room, ride, engine, drivetrain: awesome! Love the looks as well. I have had no problems with my A/C capacity in desert heat, which leads me to ask this: How many people have Laramies and dual controls? I opted for the SLT because (a) it was in stock, (b) was a 1 ton, (c) did not want leather or all the bells and whistles.

I'm very happy with my Mega Cab, fuel mileage and towing performance has been great!

I think we should be asking if any Mega Cab owners don't like there trucks. :D

I have an SLT, and the a/c is weak when the outside temps are in the upper 80s or higher.

I have an 06 Mega cab 3500 4x4 Six Speed with 14k on it. When it had about 12,000 on it I put in a Predator Stage 3 and the mileage went from 15-17 to 23-25 on the overhead console. I couldn't believe it but I definitely notice that I can go a lot farther on a tank now. I have a superglide fifth wheel and have had a 3 car trailer with a 05 6. 0 Ford Crew cab dually, a Suburban, and a Crown Vic cop car and the lowest the mileage went to was 14 with the predator. Even with the shortbed I can make super tight turns with the superglide.

I got my MC in Feb this year, have right at 10K miles, ALL of them a pleasure to have driven. GREAT TRUCK. It has exceeded my performance expectations, so far been trouble free outside of a few nuisance codes eliminated by the dealer. DC has been excellent regarding notifications of recall and parts have been available and installed by my dealer in a timely manner. Who could ask for more. I look for excuses to take a ride, my dog does too, in fact we are in collusion as I now say 'It looks like you need a ride to the dog and off we go. My fuel economy gets better as the miles go on, right now at 18. 5 towing, I do tend to be cheap with the skinny pedal and travel at the speed limit. I tow big loads without hardly noticing I'm towing, the power is awesome.
