Mega Cab vs. Quad Cab Pic?

Steve I can see your point as a moderator but the picture is out there and there is no putting that bullet back in the gun. If the confidentiality of the photograph was that important; Dodge should have much better protected against its release. Does anyone have a picture of it that they can email me? I will post the picture on our tractor board in our trucks and trailers section. Send me a PM if you can.

The picture is still in the similar thread on the DTR... btw, in a way that's pretty cool, because if someone was perturbed enough to ask that it be removed, then it MUST have been legit, eh? so the people that are trying to keep it from us basically just validated its existence.

I would agree! And its got a couple the guys I work with pretty excited. They been tolleratin there strokes and max's just cause of them having a tru crew cab Oo.

Are you sure you're not mixing up the Mega cab with the Maxxcab? The Maxxcab is a Dodge concept vehicle that you can check out on their website. The hood is extremely short.

MAXXCab was built off the Dakota chassis... nowhere near the size of the Mega Cab which is a true crew cab on the Ram platform.



I agree with Tomeygun... the design is very unbalanced visually the way it looks now. Since I don't need the extra rear room, I'll stick with the balanced look of the Quad.

Because it was taken on private property, AND to gain access to that property you you must have a Confidenentiality agreement on file. But there are LOTS of other picures taken in public domain.

I've heard that thing is supposed to be a short bed. NO WAY!! It would be a limo inside, it's too long to be a shortbed. Anybody have any insight on this? I've been bagging on Dodge a little for not making a true LWB Crew cab Truck and I am ready to eat my words!

My guess is that D/C has NO PLANS to release that full size crue cab for several years. Having them remove it from the site pretty much tells me that it will be quite some time before they get the frame and cab correct. I think they have enough issues getting the "ball joint" , "pull to the right" rusty chrome, poor fuel economy, just to mention a few, problems fixed on the trucks they are popping out now. Oh yet, I forgot to mention the clear coat paint that they forgot the color under 30% of it! :-laf :-laf :-laf

This isn't the first time that interesting engineering information has been pulled from this site, and I can appreciate all the damage control DC must be doing.



Without stooping to corporate espionage, the blue-oval and bowtie boys now have invaluable, highly secret, pre-release design information about the megacab. How sad.



I hope it was worth the risk to the photographer, and that he enjoys his new employment.



Now, DC... where's that 68RFE???

Autoweek magazine had a spy photo of it a couple of issues a go. They had it pretty well covered. Thet were talking of an 06 model

I don't want to say too much about the new trucks, but they are coming soon and will meet the same criteira the current ones do for fit, finish

I would hope not... ... . I would expect them to exceed the current criteria. If not GM will still be whomping them in this area.

The Company is continually evaluating the quality issues with the products and is always seking ways to imporve them. I would anticapate that the newer products will be better than what is currently available. The Company has repeatedly told us that they want to be competitve with Toyota and Honda in the Quality arena. They know They have much work to do to be in that league. My 03' is far superior to what my 97' was. However, there are still some issues to address. GM and Ford have there own issues to deal with I'm sure. Although, DCX must be doing something right, our sales are 7% ahead of what GM and Ford are doing right Now! Granted most of that is coming from sales of the 300 and the Magnum, but all the product is selling well right now.



As a proud Dodge owner and employee, I would love to see the Company achieve the Quality targets we are aiming for. Our customers benefit from the fierce competition and it keeps me employed! I donot however, look forward to Toyota and Nissan stepping into Diesel territory! They both build high quality Gas trucks and anticipate they will do the same for Diesels! Dodge won't have to worry so much about Fords or GMs, as all 3 would about Toyota and Nissan unless all 3 companys step it up and start building the same quality trucks the Japenese do here in America!

Excellent point. I love the current Honda my wife drives and the car has never been in the shop for anything except routine maintenance in over 112,000 wonderful miles. When I heard Toyota was going to be bringing a diesel version to their trucks shortly I put the brakes on car shopping for my wifes next new car (by the way she wants a truck this go around). We have decided to wait for the diesel version of the Toyota and yes that's what she will be getting. I still love my Cummins, but what it's wrapped in is what worries me. Toyota and well most Japanese automakers build rock solid vehicles and it's doubtful that a diesel introduction will be anything less.
