Sorry but 1st gen owner would like your help.

I am looking into the possiblility of adapting the Air filter out of the AFE mega cannon to work on a first gen truck. I was wandering if someone with this kit could go and make some measurements on just the filter? flange width, O. D, length, I. D of the mouth of the filter? And if you can please confirm the P/N of the filter.

any help much appreciated,

Jlast

Measurments

Before I bought mine I found a site that had the exact dimensions of the filter in drafting format, but I haven't been able to relocate it. The following measurements were with my tape measure and are as close as I can get with a tape.

Rough dimensions:

The cone length is 9. 5" long.

From tip tip the entire filter is 11" Long.

The widest end of the cone is 8" from side to side.

The narrowest end of the cone is about 6. 5" from side to side.

The sleeve/hole where the air exits to the turbo is 5" side to side.

Saw a 1st Gen one time at Black Mountain Diesel that had used the same filter as a Mega Cannon but he had it wired into place of the factory fitler. He had looked to have removed the factory housing and just used string/wire to support the filter. I never new the housing was supposed to be there till I changed the oil on a 1st Gen @ work Fri.
