My new 2006 Mega Dually 4x4 turns much shorter to the right than to the left. In fact, it doesn't turn worth a cr@p to the left. I nearly got wedged in a supermarket parking lot the first time I drove it! When turning to the left, the steering seems to get a little stiffer about 1/2 a crank before it runs out of travel. To the right, however, the radius is acceptable, and seems to be smooth all the way to the bump-stop. Is there a chance that it's out of adjustment? Maybe some of the right side travel could be adjusted over to the left and even things out? I'm no steering guru, as you can tell.

Any help is appreciated.

The steering stops on the knuckle could be out of adjustment. If the steering gear was out of center, it would want to steer right in your situation.

I haven't spent enough time under the front end of these trucks to know if this is possible, but is it possible that the tie rod alignment points are rubbing on something? On my Jeep if I don't have the sleeve turned the right way, it rubs on my leaf spring. Obviously, there aren't leaf springs to rub on the Dodges, but there could be some other point of interference.

I'm pretty sure something's not right...

There is a significant difference in turning radius between the right and left turns. Plus, there's not as many revolutions on the steering wheel, right versus left. Plus, when turning to the left, steering effort increases after about 1. 0 cranks on the wheel, sort of like it is being obstructed by something.

I'm wondering if there are any TDR members out there with the same truck configuration as me? I'd like to know how many turns lock-to-lock their wheel goes each way?
