Thought it was just me, but I have yet to see a SINGLE megacab on the road. Plently of them at the dealer however. Are they really selling??

The competition is the crew cab, long bed Ford F-350 that's offered with the Tow Boss package to pull 5th wheel RVs. The current MegaCab dually with its short bed and wimpy GVWR and GCWR is missing that market entirely.

If Dodge would build a dually Megacab with the long bed, stout GVWR and GCWR ratings, the 6. 7L and Aisin 6-speed automatic, they would have my attention! :-laf

I drive all around Colorado, and I see a TON of Megacabs, especially in more rural areas. Maybe its a regional thing.

Not disputing what you see, and not sure what part of Colorado you are in, however, I have not seen even one Megacab yet on the road in my travels around the state, and I am on the road quite a bit commuting over 30 miles each way to work and driving our toys to various locations on the weekends.

GM dropped the rear steer this year... too expensive.

Yes, and they also dropped REAR DISC BRAKES in 1/2 tons. .  They went back to drums...

I also had a friend of mine tell me that the MEga's were going to have 8' beds in '07 as well... ?? Maybe?

The early '07's will not have the 6. 7L, EGR, Particulate filters, or VGT turbos, nor will it have the 6-speed auto. Not untill '07. 5. . (That's why I'm planning for an early '07... )

See a few around

I see a few around Camp Lejeune where I am at, and this weekend there is about to be one more. I wished they would have had an 8ft bed, but I do have a 18ft trailer, and when I really need to move something really long I can just hook up the trailer. I agree though, for men that work contruction, logging and similar jobs, they need an 8 ft bed and extra crew room for men and gear. Scotty

I need the 8' ft bed for my slide in camper and the bed cap. My kids are also not getting any smaller, but then neither am I. I hope they build it!

I'm holding my breath. A long bed Mega would only be about 18" longer than the Frod Crew/LB. It's like paying for them... what's another $1000 on a $50K truck? What's another foot on a 20+foot truck? I think the Mega would look more balanced with a longer bed. I wish they would have just built a full crew cab w/long bed and called it good. Another answer to a question not asked. :-laf I do like the room inside the Mega, but if it did come down to 8' and full crew or Mega and 6', the regular crew would win. Also, that whole weight thing. I think DC really swung and missed on that. Of course, if my wife said go get a Mega, it'd be in the driveway tonight!

I just got back from a trip to Duck Creek UT, then to Beaver UT, than back to Las Vegas. I saw about 5 or 6 mega cabs on my travels today. It was a long day, helped dad movea sofa, table, tv and gun safe. Time for bed :) :)
