Boy what a fun ride I had out at moab. . You know I have called this Yamaha Rhino a "mini Jeep" ... Now I can confirm it!! This thing should have been called the Mule Like Kawasaki's is because that is what this thing is. . I swear it goes almost everywhere I point it except 2 rocky hills that were too steep... anyway heres some pics for your viewing pleasure

Campsite on sandflats road just east of Moab

This is porcupine rim trail..... REALLY ROCKY!!... . MAN! shale and boulders and dirt oh my!! hehe

One of many times where the front or rear wheel got off the ground... Rhino has a locked rear when in 2wd and there is a opend iff in 4wd and a front locker. Works really well

This is the view awaiting us when we got to the top of the ridge. This is castle valley and you can get to this valley in a car but it is more spectacular this way... .

What I havent shown you yet is my parents ride with me on this and also our 2 Dogs. Nice to be 74 and 75 yrs old and get to see stuff like this...

#ad

This is how my mom rides... . and the dogs... .

When it is jus me and my dad, we went on the sandstone trail fins and Thingsss heres a particularly steep hill... . for the rhino anyway...

Those are some cool pictures. Awesome views.

Is the Rhino top heavy? How much leg room does that rear seat give the riders?

It is sorta tippy especially if tipping cornerwise but not bad at all. I have the rear cage and seat and 3 adults and 2 dogs make this about 1800 # total... . the rhino is about 1140 wet stock. without rider.

the rear seat has pretty good legroom ... your knees are up a bit... the bench is good for either 1 adult or 2 kids... to get 2 adults, there is kits to use 2 of the stock front seats in the rear... .

for most hill clibs and rock climbs where you go up or down straight, it does very well.

We just got back from a family wheeling trip from Moab too... . been there bike ridin' before, but never wheelin'... . one of the nicest parts of the world that I've ever been too... . goin back... Dang... I'm on the hunt for one of them, thar Rhino things... .

If any of you are looking to get a rhino, the best places to get all the cool gear is

www.yamaharhino.com

www.hunterworks.com

www.everythingoffroad.com

and I found a lot of things on E-Bay when you search for "yamaha rhino"

A discussion forums for this type of quad is

Just another type of toy to go in debt over... .

Those tires I have on are Maxis Bighorn 26 x 10 - 12" and 26 x 12 - 12" ... they really do the job!

looks like fun :)

Just got back from Moab a couple of weeks ago and we also had absolutely great weather :)

BTW: here are some pix on the Pritchett Canyon trail :D

I missed the trip this year that we usually go so the the pics help a little bit but I sure do like riding in Moab... Thanks for sharing...

Looks like the Rock Pile is short on rocks.

that's not Rock Pile, but you're absolutely correct -> there are hardly any rocks left at all on that obstacle ... won't make a difference on my SWB TJ anyways

There was plenty of rocks and ledges and shale where my 11" clearance with 90" weelbase, with my 26" tires could barely handle! Not to mention I don't have a low range, just a low gear on a belt drive transmission... which is something else I am having modified to help the low end grunt... .

where you see my front wheel in the air, that happened on several of the obsitles... all because of the wheelbase and ground clearance.

That pile looking through the windscreen is bigger than it looks... it is about 2' high and the jagged shapes and placement almost always hit center and the rear wheel would find that hole! A 1 1/2" lift is going on as Several of the piles were just touching the underside... . especially with the extra weight onboard...

The neat thing with being only 54" wide is I have a lot more choices to pick a line or angle or go way over or straddle or whatever...

I am quite pleased with this rhino but everything is better BOMBED! so this is almost there ...

In case I get to a place where I get stuck or high centered, I have a 2500# Warn multimount winch... . has a removable mount to place in front or rear and has wired remote...

I have a friend who is a paraplegic,he just bought a rhino so that he could still ride off-road. (he made his rail buggy street legal). He is really impressed with the rhino so far. Randy

Shows how long it's been since I was in Pritchett Canyon. I'm sure it's a lot more dug up since I was in there last.

the entrance in there (which used to be an asscheek squeeze drop off) has been completely leveled ... seems there were a couple close calls about rigs rolling and some that actually did :-laf

And there's indeed quite a few obstacles on that trail now that have gotten more interesting, even though there are still 'bypasses' on quite a few :)

Sorry for stealing your thread EricBu12 :p

I'd love to have a Rhino for the farm. i can think of a million things that I could use it for instead of a quad or the tractor. Especially after I modded the ignition and clutches. :-laf
