Member 'crash-AF' has broken down in Pueblo CO.

5:30 PM Fri nite June 15

His truck with a newly rebuilt injection pump has no throttle control and just runs away with itself. He can shut it off with the key, though.

Linkages check out OK.

Problem is- he's got a gooseneck trailer hooked up with 2 heavy cars onboard, and can't get off the hiway.

Anyone out there near Pueblo with a gooseneck hitch can help out??

Anybody got any ideas on fixes for the pump to limp the truck in??

Joe has a borrowed cell phone- if you can help his number is 719 963 0414.

You checked the linkage.

Have you checked the throttle cable make sure it is not broke or hooked up wrong?

Also how are the return springs?

I don't see how it could be the injector pump itself with a rebuilt one. But it could be.

crash-AF:

Hope by now the truck/trailer is safely off the road and at least at a repair shop.

Good luck on the repair... . there was a recall on some early pumps for a potential broken internal return spring or the spring end fastener. This may not apply to a rebuilt pump.
