Ok--

I would like to start a list of midwest members that need the jig to fix the KDP. I'm in the St. Louis area.

Please reply if you would like to use the jig, and I will create a list and try to locate a jig. Then we can have a big KDP party.

Thanks

Kurt

I know Cooker used a jig in Michigan a couple of weeks ago and shipped it off, the trail starts there.

Kurt, if you want to be the guardian of the Midwest jig you're definitely elected, someone needs to keep track or the jig will stall. It can't just be shipped to the next person on the list automatically without problems. I've had several folks on the NW list skipped when they didn't respond that they still needed it. One person ended up being shipped out to Afghanistan, the jig would have waited in his mailbox for him to return in six months. Another had died, don't know what would have happened to that one if it was mailed out.

Breck, Dbonzi

You're on the list. I think Cooker e-mailed me about my shocks before Christmas, I'll e-mail him and find out who he sent it to. Can everyone send me a private message that includes your phone number and name? That way when I line up the jig I can call everyone and set-up a time and place.

Cooker--if you have a phone number for the person you sent the jig, I would greatly appreciate it. I don't intend on jumping in front of anyone, just as long as I know who has it and that it is still moving around. Hopefully we can get a few trucks together to fix at once. The more help the faster it will go.

The beer helps too. I'll keep the fridge cold.

Kurt, Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds to me like that new baby is keeping you up nights and your looking for something to do:D:D:D If you locate the jig and people, my new shop will be done in a short while. Your welcome to use it for your jiggin party.

It takes about 1. 5 hours for the first fix, after you have the tools out and everything figured out maybe 45 minutes, air tools help a little. The step when the jig itself is used is ten minutes max, so several trucks could be in various stages of assembly/disassembly at once. Some tips to make it much faster, don't remove the fan shroud nor try to take the fan out unless you want to leave it out for the winter. Just unscrew the fan and drop it down out of the way. Break the pulley bolts loose before removing the belt so the pulley doesn't spin, no need to remove the belt, just push it out of the way.

I have 150,000 miles on my cummins with out ny trouble... should I still JiG it? If so I'd like to be on the list (will supply support troops... aka: extra beer) Thanks in advance!

I am in Joplin, MO, have 270,000 on my 96, don't want to loose it now because of some stupid pin!!

Let me know when and where!!!

OK guys... I did a little detective work. After you kill your dowel pin, send a "gratuity" check or Money Order to CPFF... His real name is John Strenkowski. His address is 1912 Exeter Road, Lebanon, Ct. 06249

Big DQ-

You guessed it, I've got to find something to do to get out of the house. Cabin Fever is setting in :D :D :D

Thanks, I really appreciate it, I think that will work. This means that I need to come over and help get ready for the party, :D :D :D, get trucks ready, clean up... . that would get me out of the house too. Now I need talk to the warden... I mean wife, about two kitchen passes.

Seriously, I appreciate it. I'll give you a call.

Kurt

Everyone-

Don't forget to send a private message to me with your address and/or phone number so that I can get a hold of you when we locate a jig.

Thanks

For those of you who do not want to wait for a jig and/or would like to make the tab repair e-mail me for the info. It's a better fix but more work.

Yes I had Jig #9. I just sent it to a member in Ohio, and from there it is spoken for by a member in Maryland. I would imagine it will be a few weeks before it becomes available again.

MGM is the keeper of this Jig, but I don't think he would mind if I started and kept a list for #9. If you would like to PM me I will start, and maintain a list for Jig #9 here in the midwest region.

FWIW - I agree with Joe G. The washer tab fix may be a good way to go for some guys too. I can't imagine it invloves too much more work than the jig. When you get prepared to use the jig, you have everything that needs to be removed to uninstall the front cover (except the oil fill neck) JMHO.

if you're within driving distance from columbus indiana, jessup does the fix in 1. 5hrs and $150. nice guy. the most knowledgeable on the 12v at cummins.

Everyone-

Cooker has informed me that a jig is in route to Ohio, then to Maryland. Then we are next. Cooker tells me probably 3 to 4 weeks... .

So far I have Breck, Dbonzi, Turbo Sandman, KB0OU, Roger rodbolt, Big_DQ, and myself on the list for the jig party.

I have contact information from everyone except Breck, and KB0OU. I will call eveyone with a date, time and place for the jig party. I'll bring the BBQ grill and grill some burgers.

Breck and KB0OU, please send me a PM with phone numbers, so I can contact you for the get together.

Also if someone would like to use the jig next, please let me know, and I will ship it to you when we are finished.

Thanks

Kurt
