How to look something up

I'm thinking about getting an E320 CDI to replace our Subaru WRX.

I read the short article in the TDR, and was wondering if anybody else has any experience with it? How easy was it to get one? Did you buy 'off the lot' or order? Did you pay MSRP; how likely is the dealership going to 'negotiate'?

Any suggestions as to a good dealership to order from - with delivery in the Omaha area (I plan to custom order)?

Thanks. zari

My father will be taking delivery of his new E320 CDI in Germany in October. It has been on order for a couple of months, so I'm not sure how readily available they are. Also, I don't know what he paid. Probably, close to sticker. The new CDI's are in high-demand in this area.

He was very impressed with his test drive. He says it had lots of power and lit up the tires without hesitation... he says he didn't do it on purpose.

He is getting rid of his beloved '98 E300 Turbo Diesel on autotrader.com right now, so it must have been worth it.

Being I work on them I might be a bit biased... ... but.....

I dont' know sales stuff. I know the cars are very solid and we have not had any problems with the diesels yet. They are actually faster than the v6 gasser, and get great milage. Our rep has one right now, not broken in... . like our CTD's he is expecting better milage... . but running 75-80 on the innerstate he was getting 37mpg, 42 when he slowed it down a bit. The wait to start light bairly comes on this time of year. 2 seconds maybe. If I had the cash I'd buy one. The Suspension in the new E-class is great. Smooth ride, but you can still make it handle. Plenty of trunk space, and great seat heaters. ;)

I'd say they are a great car so far. I'll keep you guys posted on any problems I see.

My father will be pleased to hear those fuel mileage numbers. No troubles on the CDIs, yet? It would be nice for him to drive around Europe without nagging issues.

Last time I was at an MB dealer, they wouldnt talk much on the price.

If you get $1000-$1500 off sticker, that's about all youre gonna get.
