2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Metalic gold transfer case fluid

It actually looks like my daughters metalic nail polish that looks good on her but not so good when its in my transfer case. The metal is non ferrous and wont come to a magnet so I guess it must be some sort of bronze bushing. There were also quite a few flakes of the same material in the soup. So my question is what wore out inside the case, what parts are made of that metal, and will a standard rebuild kit fix the problem. Thank's
