Sorry, I'm new here and just learning how to post.

Here is my problem. I signed a sales contract on 3-18 for a new Ram 3500 CTD 600. The dealer said the truck was "on the train" and that it would be arriving in about a week. I put $1,000 down and the contract says that the Mfg's rebate is $2,500. I was ok with that deal. Today, however, I get an e-mail from the dealer and he says that the truck wont arrive until tomorrow (4-1) and that he will "let me know if the rebate is more or less". I'm thinking that the rebate needs to be what it says on my sales contract. The dealer is Lithia Dodge of Renton, Wa.

I'm frustrated but not discouraged. It has been a battle re: the dealer. Any thoughts / advice?

With a signed sales contract and a deposit, you get AT LEAST the rebate in place when you ordered the truck. If the rebate gets better, you get the bigger rebate, but you do NOT lose if the rebate goes down or goes away. DC says so, call their cust. service (from the dealer if necessary). Dealer has paperwork to fill out, but that's life.

I should have read your post closer,a lot of guys here have a sour taste in their mouth when it comes to Lithia. I think it boils down to two words,"signed contract" Good luck. ;)

When I was shopping for mine I tried Lithia in Pocatello. They were out to lunch on their deals. Bought at a small town dealer with great service. Good luck, Doc

You bought the truck when the contract was signed and you paid money down (a one dollar bill would make it binding), you shouldnt have a thing to worry about, if they rtry to screw you around you have plenty of legal recourses.

I've had some bad experiences with Lithia of Renton. I've always asked about price protection right from the start. It had a lot to do with how and when I placed an order. Buyer protection exists and if they waffle on it, go higher.

Keep going up the food chain until you get the answer you want.

The main problem as I see it is LITHIA. I have had nothing but problems with them here in OREGON. My problem is that DC says to go to another dealer. North is Lithia, south is Lithia. East is Lithia, and west is the Pacific Ocean. I could drive to Chico Calif and go to Sierra Dodge. Thats 250 miles! Cut your loss now and take the drive to Kellogg Idaho and buy from Dave Smith. He most likely has the truck you want already in stock FOR LESS!

Just my 2 cents
