I have been waiting for Michelin to release a tire for my dually. Originally they said that they would be available in February 2005. I checked again the other day and they still aren't listed on their website so I emailed them again. I got a response that they will have a 235-80R-17 in May 05 in the LTX M/S tread pattern. How are those of you running the Cooper tires liking them? Do they see to be lasting longer that the Goodyears? Ken irwin

I got 21K out of my GY GSAs, I have 14K on Cooper discover st and at the current wear rate they should go another 25k.

Actually, the LT235/80R17E is listed on their website (this is the "Sizes and Specs" link from the LTX M/S page): http://www.michelinman.com/assets/pdfs/doc_ltxms.pdf and it's the last tire on the list at the bottom. Only flaw is, it's only listed as a white letter tire (those look bad on duallies IMO).

I put a set of LTX M/S on my 96 in April 2002. I put over 50,000 miles on them byt the time I traded the 96 last week. The 2 front tires were just about done, but the 4 rear tires had well over half their tread left. When the AmeriTracs are done on the 05, hopefully Michelin will offer a blackwall 235/80.

I'd like to see a 255/80/17 for the SRW guys. It's nice to have some height without the width. Good to see they're at least progressing with new sizes.

I guess I missed that

Thanks KCJackson. I missed that. I agree with you that the ORWL are NOT the way to go with a dually, especially if you tow a trailer a lot. I didn't specify while letter or black wall in my original email toMichelin so maybe I will reask my question and be a little more specific. I would wager to say that the Michelins will out last the Goodyears for sure. Ken Irwin

Michelin Dually Tire

I just found the 235/80/17 listed in Michelins specs last night on their website, so its for real gonna happen. I can't wait to get rid of these goodyears, they're junk from the get-go. It''s the LTX-M&S Michelin tire.

For what it's worth to the Albuquerque crowd, I got to looking for a source for the Cooper HT in 235/80/17E. Found it here at Circle J Tires, 4300 Rankin Rd N/E 345-7242. Jim Quoted me $151. 48 +$16 mount/bal per tire. Jim says they are the largert Cooper tire dealer in NM. They also use "beads" to balance, claim to have excellent results.

I'm gonna hang 'til I get a price on the Michelins from Costco or Sams, then replace what I need to at that time. Ron

Hey Kir

Mine came with the Generals OWL 235/80/17's optional off highway tires. I have to tell you for generals these things have worked really well. I went from So Ca to N/W Wa St over the holidays (lots of snow, ice and rain) man they worked good. I am also a Michelin guy and it's nice to here that they are going to have the LTX M/S available in a 17 I ran those on my 99 excellent tire IMHO.
