Soon I will need to replace the tires on my wife's Buick. I have Michelin tires on every vehicle I own except my Harley. My question is, are Michelin tires made in France the land of the powder puffs, if so, I will not buy any more Michelin tires. I'm sure there are other brands that are comparable.

Question 2, what other brand would you suggest.

Thanks

Coopers ...

Go with Coopers Lifeliners for the Buick.

Coopers are good tires and Michelin is a French company ... I won't be buying any Michelins anymore.

I also feel guilty for owning a VW ... great car, great miliage, but it will be a long time before I could ever buy another one ... if ever. Thats too bad ... it really is a good car.

Tires

Michelin has More than 70 manufacturing sites in 18 countries:

- Algéria

- Brazil

- Canada

- China

- Colombia

- France

- Germany

- Hungary

- Italy

- Japan

- Mexico

- Nigeria

- Poland

- Romania

- Russia

- Spain

- Thailand

- United Kingdom

- United States

So you might be buying from a French based company but supporting America. If your comfortable with that then read the sidewall for the "Made in xxxx" label and make your decision from there.

BTW - Cooper in only one of two US owned tire companies left and has a manufacturing plant in France.

?????????

Who is the other US-owned tire company?? I thought Cooper was the only US owned?? I was about to buy new cooper tires for the reason. Thanks!!

I bought BF Goodrich All Terrain KO's. Much better feel and traction. I dont know how long they will last though. The Frogs probably own part of that company too.
