Competition 11.7 @ 115mph

Competition Duramax

Ok guys, here's the next pull in Michigan City, MS. Sep. 25 at 7pm. We'll have the same classes that we did in april. my question for those of you that came down and/or those of you who wanted to come down is: do you like the 8000 lb street diesel class and a 9000 lb street diesel? or would you rather have 1 9000 lb street diesel class with a little more money added in the pot? We will have an 8000 lb open class if we have at least 5 open trucks RSVP. there will be $400 added to their pot. ya'll let me know what ya'll want to have and we'll make it happen. thanks in advance, nick

What is the reasoning for a 9000lb diesel class? What kind of trucks cant make the 8000lb mark? If you were to go to one class i really dont fell like trying to add another 1200lbs to get to the 9000lbs with the truck but, 8500 seems like a reasonable number to me. Matt

well the only reasoning for the 9000 lb mark, is that we have 2 service trucks. (1 ton flat beds) that are WELL above an 8000 lb mark. we want them to be able to pull with us but don't want anyone who travels to feel like we cheated them by letting them pull with us. i personally prefer to pull at 8000 lbs. just wanted to know if we did a "street" diesel class with no wieght limit if it would offend anybody. we want it to be fair for everyone who comes and supports oour pull. no suprises. thanks, nick

would anyone else like to comment on this pull or the rules?

rules for street class are: no hanging wieghts, single charger, no drugs. any other comments on the classes? thanks, nick

Count me in

I will be a RSVP for the open class. I'll be there. I missed it in April and am ready to make the trip.

With no hanging weights allowed in the street class its going to suck putting all those weights in the cab to try and get close to 9000lbs. Maybe i will just have to go to the open class instead. I like the DHRA rules as far as for street class. Weights are easy to take off for daily driving like i do but i know if you have people in your area who get ofended by seeing weights out in front of street trucks, and decide not to compete, than it is going to hurt the pull participation.

Matt, that is the reasoning for the no hanging wieghts. i would prefer to hang wieghts myself, but don't want the locals to get upset. ok, we'll try one street class and see how everyone likes it. thanks for ya'lls input. nick
