That is the only reason I can think why fleetgards may have different micron ratings. I know when building a gas fuel system for EFI they take 10 micron, diesel may be different.

25 micron filter at 98. 7 % efficiency. The FS1221 is a 22 micron filter at
98 % efficiency.
