Ok, we gotta fix the spelling of my hometown. It's HoHenwald, with an "H. "



Now, once I get a total roll call, I'll be able to find out how much to buy and I'll figure up how much everyone will need to pitch in. Just let me know about a time, I guess pretty much anytime is fine with me. It would probably be nice to have the meal ready when everybody gets there (or just before everyone leaves. ) So let me know if you want it to be a lunch thing or an evening meal.

Directions

I'll go ahead and post directions on here, but I'll be glad to email anyone a copy or you can just look it up on mapquest. The address is 330 Summertown Highway, Hohenwald.



From I-65, take exit 53 which is Saturn Parkway, then get off on US-31 towards Columbia. After traveling around 8 or 9 miles on 31, turn right at the 2nd light which is the Highway 412 bypass, also US-43. Drive on 43 for about 6. 5 miles and turn left on the ramp to get on US-412 (Hampshire Pike) toward Hohenwald. You are now 28 miles from Hohenwald. 412 will carry you right into Hohenwald, and at the 1st red light, turn left. You are on Maple Street. This road comes to a "T" after a half mile and then turn left onto Highway 20 (Summertown Highway). The house is a half mile from this turn. The road forks just past a Phillips 66 station on the right. Veer left onto Summertown Highway, do not take HWY 99. It's a 2-story, red brick home on the corner with a massive concrete/brick fence running in front of the house. There's a huge lot just to right of the house.



Mapquest has really good directions if you would feel more comfortable that way. Again the address is 330 Summertown Highway, Hohenwald.

hey hey. I'm all in. I'll be there. Sorry I didn't holler back sooner... been in HotLanta on bidness for a few days. Took my little rattly blue 6 cyl. She did fine, 300 miles with the windows down, the AFE, and x-ed silencer ring had my ears ringing for a few hours when I got home!



Anywhoo, count me in. Look for some more graphics to appear at the meeting. Anybody send me what you can, I'll work it up the best of my abilities and present it to everyone.



Big thanks to Hans for getting us together. I'll beat money out of anyone we need to :-laf . I don't think a collection will be a problem at all though.

P. S. Didn't someone post a while back that they had new gauges they wanted to install? I need to "RE-plumb" my fp gauge... maybe I'll do that for anyone that wants to see... . Gotta run by Cummins and get some new sealing washers first... and a snubber, and new lines... okay. . maybe I won't be doing that.

With me opening the business and all the end of October, I want be able to make it. I got family coming in from out of town that weekend to help us get the business going also. Not that some of the family would be a problem to come as He is a motorhead too and would love it. The wives on the other hand have made plans for us like painting the fence, building some furniture, hanging some light fixtures, building some displays, toting the furniture from the shop to the house, doing some landscaping, blah, blah... .

Just bad timing for me, try'n to get this business up and rolling and get it to where she can manage it more herself and that'll free me up some. We will most definetely be at the Covington and Lynnville pulls or whatever else is after this weekend. Don't know if we are gonna make Michigan City or not. Still got a lot of button'n up to do on Ol Smokey.

Hey guys, lets try to set a time for Saturday. I need to start making some plans for the meeting and work in some other stuff around it so let me know what time you want to start and how long people usually hang around. I'm not at all trying to set any limits (you can party all night for all I care) but I would like to have some rough idea.

Regarding time. How does 10 AM strike you? Like 10-2 or something? that gives time to get there, time to eat, time to hang out/do something, time to clean up... etc...



Does anyone have anything to DO (gauges, pump testing, etc. )?



Did you get an accurate feel for how many will be in attendance?

Yeah, 10-2 is fine. Anytime is fine, I just wanted some kind of idea to make plans to get prepared for everything. If it lasts longer, that's fine too. I know some of you are 1 1/2 hours or more away so whatever you guys want to do.



Wade and I talked about attendance, no problems there.



In regards to projects, I've got a new CB radio setup that I still need to install so I may ask for some of your opinions on how to mount my antenna (tool chest is a problem) and where to run the wires.



It would be nice to know if anyone had any other wrenching to do, otherwise I won't mess with bringing the floor jack and jackstands over there. I don't really know why we would need them anyway, but you never can tell.

Well Friday's gonna be nuts for me. The girlfriend's car broke down in Murfreesboro today (alternator) so the minute I get in from Memphis around 2:00 on Friday I gotta hook to the car hauler and go get the the dang thing. #@$%!



Hopefully I can get a deal on an alternator in Hohenwald and slap 'er in there before the weekend's over. She doesn't know any mechanics up there and I think she'd rather get in taken care of back home.



If anyone knows of any good places to get one, let me know - I'd figured I'd just try and strike a deal with the local NAPA shop though. It's a 2000 Civic.

Andy, thanks for the offer, but I wouldn't ask anyone to do that. The whole trip shouldn't take more than 3 1/2 hours so I'll be back before dark. Swing by Advance and get 100% confirmation that it is the alternator and we're good to go.



Kinda strange though - the cars only got 40000 miles on it, you think the alternator would already be bad? I suppose it could be the battery but the experience that I've got tells me that it's the alternator.



It's been cranking longer than usual before starting so that suggests low power, but today the car wouldn't start after she had already driven it today. They jumped it off and then the car died while she was driving down a 4-lane highway in the boro. Sounds like the alternator around me, any other ideas?

Yeah, I got a trailer. And I have to put a starter on a Sentra (pull engine is about as easy).

ooohhh antenna questions. Oo. I pounce on those. Something to do with my ham license. Remind me and I'll bring the "Analyzer" and also have some Belden 9913 coax if you want a short piece (less than 20')--but it's the big stuff and not the "flex" version.

Kinda strange though - the cars only got 40000 miles on it, you think the alternator would already be bad?

Hell, we had a 89 probe and I put 3 alternators on it before 75,000..... 1st and 2nd about 3 weeks apart.

Not hard to get off, but then I had to pull the passenger front wheel, disconnect steering, and bend a sheetmetal tab to get it out. :-laf
