Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

I just ordered the muffler elimination kit from Geno's Garage. Does anybody have any idea how hard it will be to get that muffler off, and the new pipe on?

Hi Larry,

Welcome to the TDR. I've never taken a stock exhaust apart with anything but a sawzall, so I can't say how hard it'll be to swap. I wouldn't THINK it would be too terrible, although I'm sure it won't be a lot of fun.

If you need a hand, give us a shout. I'm not sure where Telford, TN is... most of us around Nashville.

Andy

Larry a big Welcome to ya, as to the eliminator pipe I take a cutting disk on a 90 deg grinder and cut 4-5 slots long enough to get past the clamp indentation in the pipe and then take a cold chisel and drive it in there to bend each flap down, will come right out, just don't cut into the main pipe to far back or you will have to do some welding, hope this helps.

Dash cracks

Was cleaning the top of my dash off yesterday and found three cracks coming from the defroster vents running up to the rear of the truck. Is this common? It has been about six weeks since I cleaned the dash, either I did not notice them or they have developed since then.

Larry, Welcome to our little site.

Just don't wash it!

I bet none of Wade's trucks have dash cracks!

Hey, seperate note. I'm trying to put a fall event together here at Perfection. Lots to finalize yet, but Dyno, Trophies, hospitality etc.

Question: Does having it at a local 1/4M dragstrip make you want to get off your couch and come visit and play?

Dash cracks in 2nd gens are VERY common. Maybe not among our group, but do a search. There are two active threads here and on the DTR.

Mines cracked all to pieces around the passenger defrost vents.

You have two really good options. One, a molded cover from genos or ebay for about 150, or a new top from dodge for about 200.

Let the BOMBing Begin!!!

Well guys, I finally scored myself a chassis, engine and transmission and running gear for my 73 Dodge in the form of a 93 Ford B700 School bus. I really stumbled across a good one I think. 5. 9 Cummins, intercooled, P-pumped, Allison auto, with only 77,000!! This engine and transmission are cleaner than dryer than my 03. Drove it home from Florence, Alabama at about 62 mph!! Looks like I will need to work in top end a little! Anyway, I will have a lot of questions for you 12v guys in the next few months about injectors, plates and all of that good stuff!!

How about June the 9th, I hope Wade can make it, everybody check your Calendars and please respond. This works for me and I hope everyone else. I will get some hot dogs and hamburgers for the grill, and others can bring the sides(drinks, chips, buns, etc) We do this in my car club, kinda gets ya up and into the club alittle more. I have a fridge in my shop so if anyone wants to bring beer, have a place to keep it cold. Only rule states, keep it in check if drinking, other than that I dont have a problem with a few brews. So people let me know whos in and out.

Hey everyone, I'm a new guy around here. New to the TDR, and relatively new to Nashville and my CTD (last August for both) and I'm looking to get involved. How do I go about joining this chapter and all that jazz? Thanks!

TRoss

Wlecome T, no charge on membership just chat online and come to a meeting once every 2-3 years(LOL) be glad to have ya, I'm going to host a gathering at my house on the 9th of June, come on down, closer we get I'll post instructions plus give me cell so anyone coming can call, easiest way to give instructions ver. typing. Welcome Aboard!!!!!

It's actually pretty cool for these guys to have a place to show off their stuff but the cops won't get off their backs. If the police would let these kids enjoy themselves there wouldn't be a problem. Have you ever heard the old saying " If you don't start nutin' there won't be nutin'. It's kinda like Muncie for ricers.

It's actually pretty cool for these guys to have a place to show off their stuff ... .

That's what I was thinking. Import power's not my thing, but I love horsepower; I don't care what's making it.

I got beat by an SRT4 (hopped up Dodge Neon) at the track the other night. He got me by almost a full second. I talked to him for a little while after the run, he was my age, nice guy. I was thinking "he ought not be in a "16 year old girls" car... . but hey, who am I to talk... I fell out of my truck bed b/c I was wearing "girls footwear" (flip-flops).

Memorial Weekend

Mid-TN Gang,

Tim and Debbie Allen and their son Tinsley stopped in at Perfection last Friday and spent the weekend in beautiful downtown Hartsville SC on their way to Myrtle Beach for the week. We enjoyed some quality backyard time, punched some little holes in paper with several different hole punchers, the girls went shopping, I did some campfire cooking and then we took Tinsley for a little wagon ride, it didn't take much for Tinsley to crash in dad's arms at the end of a long day of play.

FYI, the Cub Cadet 100 is a 1965 and has been in the family since about '67/68. I'll never give it up.
