Bad things come in 3's

Guys,

I am following suite with AndyMan and Kimber and bow out as well. I am going to let my subscription expire this year. Sold my truck last month. Lots of good memories with the truck and you guys.

Keep the dream alive and the smoke blowin'.....

Wish everybody the best and good luck,

Jay

Well... I hate everybody is jumping ship. I know I don't hang out as much anymore. Sometimes "business" gets in the way of just having fun. I still love to blow smoke though ;)

Planning on pulling at Springfield August 30th (I think) and the Dickson pull. Ol Smokey lives in dickson now. She's running, that's about it. I haven't even drove it and it's been running and parked for over a month... just kinda weird I guess... She gets cranked up every now and then. Guess we'll clean the soot out of her in Springfield and see how she does. If the bug bites hard enough I may have to put all that fuel system stuff on that I haven't even took out of the box yet.

I haven't got back in the groove yet, all this estate crap is sucking the life out of me...

Just saying hey and I'm still here, just sitting in the bushes mostly (oops that's a radio comment) and lord knows, Don't say nothing about a transmission... Somebody might drop a testicle!

What? "Piston Slapper Live!" makes an appearance and I get no love...

Your ever heard and seen a Duramax hit 7k on the tach? I have, it ain't pretty. Carnage galore. Rod with attached wrist pin and multiple pieces of block laying on floor under it shortly there after! It's now a convertible, you can see the cam, crank and a few pistons without even removing the heads! She was trying to do an elvis impression. There was a whole lot of shaking going on, And it all end just like a fireworks show, with a big boom!

Ever seen 3 gallons of oil going spray'n out the stacks at 7k rpm? We was all speckled and anything within 15ft of the stacks!

You boys starting getting in the horsepower game, get you a flapper on it, might save some money... and an engine.

All for now,
Gap - Diesel Dork Extrodinaire

I gave you a big hug at work yesterday?

Or at a minimum, leave the intake off and have a piece of diamond plate or metal clipboard laying around so you can snuff her out if you've been working on things that could cause a runaway.

Just FYI... towels and thick phone books don't work... I've heard phonebooks get shreded and have seen a towel get sucked in and motor still run.

Well all I have to say is I never start something I dont plan on finishing, this is a great site, I go all over and a great bunch of people, I never get tired of the diesels. Best of luck to those who pass on... ... ...

Truck pull Scottsville, KY tonight. Rain reschedule date. Newsome and come CCD boys are going. Call if you need/want directions to the fairgrounds.

Dropping like flies...

Well, I'm here for the duration... unless there's a coup!

If'n we can get Bean to host a fall event--BBQ, Beer, and Big Turbos!, then we'll make that a big event... otherwise just set one up and do it! I can help a little with something close by--like BDP, but can't get enough time off here to accomplish much else--boss is a real slave driver.:rolleyes::-laf

24v Comp box is traded off. 24v truck--a real dandy! is fer sale.

50 cal? What's the distance on the range? Buddy has a AR-50, but we haven't shot it over 200 yet. Want to stretch it out to at least 600-1000. BTW have you seen the 50-cal ricochet video at the military site--MUST SEE. Maybe I can dig up the link... oh look it made it to youtube: YouTube - Guy hit in head with . 50 caliber ricochet

Hey SLAPPER! Good to see ya. Hey Deserters, sorry you have to go, but I know that priorities change.

I love my truck, and have no plans to part with it anytime soon.

The infamous transmission debacle and sled-pulling overload has soured me on TDR. No offense to y'all however. Well. . no offence to most of you anyway :-laf

I'll hang out around here till my subscr exprires... I just wanted to post a "see y'all" before it did so there was no speculation as to why I disappeared.

We've talked a couple times. Heck'uva nice guy, I think he'll fit in just fine.

Andy, I hate you are leaving us, but I know how it is as life changes and interest shift. I went 4 wheeler riding this past weekend and I came to the conclusion that i just dont enjoy it like I used to. Funny thing is, it is all i used to want to do!! Oh well, what is the deal with all this transmission debate stuff, I must have been absent that day???

Man, hate to see you fellas leaving. It's been fun. We'll miss ya. Andy, thanks again for the Jeep tip. Any of you need anything, you've got my number or at least my e-mail address, -- email address removed --. I know if Slapper had been around a little more ya'll probably would've stuck around a little longer. ;):-laf

Welcome to the newcomers! Especially you KY guys!:D

Andy, Joe, Mid-TN and other interested TDR members,

I read AndyMan's friends transmission problem and all of the responses. I certainly do not have a solution, but Joe and Andy were the very FIRST TDR members that I met and I found both to be first class and gentlemen their parents could be proud of. (Remember Joe, I had a long day at the shop and spent lots of time with your Dad). I know Joe is not the focus of this issue, but you two guys have had a lot of good days and Diesel time together

You both are assets to the TDR membership and I hope somehow this can blow over, shake hands, have lunch, heck, send me the bill, I'll pay for it.

.

i love andy don't get me wrong. he made an issue out of some thing that was not a big deal. he did not have a dog in the fight and did not have the whole story. the whole thing turned out to be a problem with the truck and not the transmission, i just didn't want dave to get a bad name over a bunch of crap that wasn't true
