Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Joe, I'd seriously be asking the Dealer to call the "Star Hotline" for troubleshooting assistance. It sounds like the VP-44 injection pump to me. I've changed put dozens of them. This is a familiar complaint when the pump looses timing, communications or internal ecm problems.

There's no reason not to have your turbk repaierd and back to you in 2-3 days (TOPS!).

new to the area

I just thought I would let you all know that the Army has sent another diesel junkie to Fort Campbell. I've been here only a month and have more than a handfull of modified CTDs. Needless to say, I'm eager to meet up with some of you in the near future. I'll do my best to make it to Dickson on 15 Jan. Merry Christmas.

-Tim

Welcome Tim! Glad you found us. Where are you originally from? It looks like the bombing has already gotten to you by looking at your sig.

Hope you can make it on the 15th.

My friend missed out on a sweet 98 4x4 1 ton quad cab earlier in the week by ten minutes. He bought a 96 1 ton 4x4 club cab today! :) He is very happy. It is a auto. Is a #10 fuel plate, timing, and gsk a good starting point? This is a daily driver and heavy hauler.

Yeah, its a good start..... but tell him to start saving for transmission upgrades the moment he installs the plate..... and I wouldn't put it any farther forward than stock(centered)

What did Santa bring you!?

ok I'll start this... ...

for my truck I got vent visors, keyless entry, & stainless steel rocker panels.

Dad also bought me a new HEAVY 20FT logging chain and two really nice boom dawgs.

I also got quite a few new long sleeve shirts/pull overs... . its been cold here and I've worn thermals to work all week long!

Got a few PS2 games, the DVD 1st season of "Dukes of Hazzard", a couple of '69 Dodge Charger's to add to my die cast collection, both the original and latest Walking Tall DVD's (dad wanted me to see the orignial ), a couple of subway and BP gift certificates, and some SPEND'N MONEY!... ..... "HEY JR!!!!!... ... ..... :-laf

Alright what'd Santa bring you!

Well all of this wasn't for Christmas but I put in a pretty big order for my first round of bombs:

Di-Pricol gauges

MBRP Exhaust

Airdog Fuel Preparator (thought I'd give it a shot)

already got the RV275s

gonna order an Edge EZ when I put the injectors in

This should get me started, then I see DD2s, a PDR HX-40, and a SBC in the distant future. Special thanks to Wade Patton for tying up the next $3,500 I make! :{

If it wasn't for that ride in "The Puller" back in October I'd still be living in the center of mediocrity driving a stock truck! :-laf

I'm gonna wait until we put the gauges in at Gap's before throwing the injectors and edge in and I'll probably wait until it warms up to put in the Airdog.

Hey where do I get a SS hose to connect my FP isolator to the schrader valve?

u can get a hose from geno's garage. i have used a couple of them. they work great. check with me on a price for your ez if you haven't already bought it. nick

Nick - I had noticed those at Geno's but someone put a bug in my ear about a one that was stainless steel and braided so I've been going crazy trying to find the site that I saw one on several weeks ago.

But, upon your recommendation, I'll go ahead and order the hose from Geno's.

As far as the edge goes, if you can beat $370 delivered then we may have to talk. I've got a buddy that owns a muffler shop just down the street and he seems to have the best price on them. Some places on the net want nearly $500 for one.

Oh, I'm gonna ask this question again about banjo bolts because I've never been able to get a straight answer. Should I go ahead and order the kit from Geno's or is this a waste of time? I didn't know if they should be done when I put the FP gauge in or not.

Mini-Meet @ My House!

I don't know what time we will be doing this... ..... we are shooting for Sunday and my schedule is WIDE open so whatever time best suit's you all.

Well Joe is unable to do my timing this weekend so Terry and I are going to attempt it with Wade's timing kit if I can get a barring tool. If ANYBODY knows where I can borrow one for just this weekend I would greatly appreciate it!!

Wade is going to attempt to make it over, or at least pass the tools over along the way to someone that can make it.

I got Christmas $$ burning a hole in my pocket and itching my fingers to call JR for more goodies, but I gotta get my timing back down first! :{

If you can get a hold of a barring tool for me please call my cell @ 615-478-0708

TIA

I didn't get a thing from Santa. I was naughty all year. I have learned that it is more fun to be naughty all year than to get a couple of presents at the end of the year.

I am about to order the Mach 3's and the 13" Con FE.

I just found out that Wildcat Diesel is out of business. I am heartbroken.

I am trying to talk my brother into coming up for the January meeting. He has a 1st gen. Any chance that Joe is coming to the meeting?

Jay

HH, i can't beat that price. its a great deal. the best place that i have found to get the banjo bolt kit is from haisley machine. 877-948-3164. i think the kit with all 5 of them is $55. they usually have them in stock. nick

Why the single disk Jay? thought you wanted to be cool like me! :-laf

Wildcat went outta business?!?!

There goes www.dieseltruckresource.com 's main sponsor

Yeah I would say there is a good chance Joe will be there. Terry I know for sure is going to be there. I can't wait. You know Joe's 'ol D350 reg cab 4x4 would look great if it had a new paintjob. I know money doesn't grow on tree's (TRUST ME I KNOW) and he has other things that are more important but that truck is in such great shape for the year that it is a new paintjob would give it the HOLY ****!!! effect! :-laf

I finally got the whole fuel pressure gauge - schrader valve - banjo bolt thing figured out last night. I don't need the banjos to install the FP gauge if I'm gonna go to the Schrader valve, which is what I'll be doing. I'll wait on the banjos until the need presents itself. I'm learning all this stuff, slowly but surely.

I installed my MBRP exhaust today. Nice setup, but not as loud as I thought it would be. If I hadn't paid so much for the kit and that "performance" muffler, I would consider just taking the muffler off and running a 4" straight pipe, but that would probably entirely too loud. I feel like the truck runs a lot better - smoother acceleration, and the engine doesn't sound like it's being held back anymore. I'm pleased.

Ordered and Edge EZ today also. I can't wait until these gauges are delivered and we can put 'em in.

Mark - I'd like to make it to your place Sunday. It's about 120 miles from my place, but ahhhh, what the hell. Anytime's fine for me. You'll have to give me some directions.

I will let will post 'em closer to Sunday. I want to make sure this thing is actually gonna happen. The whole reason I want to get my timing back down is so I can continue bombing. I've got $$$ for Laser Cut DV's in hand right now, just scared if I go to much further before resetting the timing that I'm gonna blow a HG.

Will you be coming up I-40 or I-65??

Was gonna see if ya'll cared about rescheduling the TDR meet till the 29th of Jan? I double booked myself by accident. I forgot my wife is going too atlanta and I gotta run the store. Would be super duper with me if we could!!!

Jan 29th???

I'll be coming up I-65. I think the quickest way to get to Bethpage is to get off at Exit 95 and the 386 and then to 31, or do I have it all wrong?

Gap - I can make it on the 29th, but that means I'm gonna have to wait another month to install my gauges - ahhhhh!!! :{ :-laf

I may have to drop in on Wade or some of you guys in the next couple of weeks so I can get a hand with these. :D I've got an Edge coming but I'm gonna do my best to wait until I get the gauges in before I start adding power.

I'm really not happy with the sound of my MBRP exhaust - just a little more muffled than what I was after. You can't even tell the difference from stock at 60mph. Go figure. Haven't cruised at interstate speeds yet but I'm afraid there's gonna be a drone once I do. We'll see.
