T-Shirts

Andy,

I honestly like the first designs you put up for us to vote on better than this one... but then there again, I'll wear anything. :)

The new design kinda looks like a shirt for an art school or a college or something. I vote for something a little more "raw. " I'd stick with one of the first designs.

Andy,

Do you care if I try a design or two? I did some graphic design and desktop publishing for my fathers company years ago and have an idea that might look cool. Just let me know... . 615-347-3698 - Wallace

Next item: I am looking for another toy. Here is what I want, with no exception other than year and miles:

1995 or newer

3500 1 ton - dual rear wheel

Cummins

4x4

Auto

8-9' Dump Bed

Quad Cab if possible

White

Miles as low as possible but not picky

If anyone knows of something that fits this profile let me know. I am ready to go now, but willing to wait for the right deal or truck. Thanks everyone!

Wallace - Does the bed have to be a dump? Or are you willing to add one later? I suppose you're going to have to go with an electric dump unless you find a truck with a manual transmission that has one rigged onto the PTO. Although I haven't seen one of those in years on a pickup chassis.

How far are you willing to travel to get one? When you say 1995 or newer does this mean you don't care whether it's a 12V or 24V? Or are you looking for a '95 - '98 12V? Also you aren't going to be able to get a Quad Cab unless you go '98 or newer. No suicide doors on '97 and below.

Sorry I made this sound so complicated. But I'll try to help you find one.

I come across CTD's quite often traveling from here to Memphis and I know of several in other surrounding counties. Let me know and I'll be on the lookout. Lexington is covered up with them.

Have at it brother! At the time, I was the only one with any form of design software. Sadly, I don't have the ability.

Rules

I'm more concerned with the mod/weight rules than the safety rules. MTPA may have some input on the safety rules.

They're fussing about having too many classes and running too long. I don't think we need to show up with rules for four diff't categories of diesel trucks. I think TWO categories should do it.

I think we need at least 3 classes.

Street = STOCK SIZE charger class to include but limit too HX35 hybrids and still allow the use of traction bars with no drugs.

Modified = modified/bigger single charger class and no drugs

Open = Run What Ya Brung!

What are feelings on this? I mean y'all don't travel to the amount of pulls that I go to I know, and I don't mean anything mean by that. However, at SO MANY of these pulls the guys pulling in the "stock" or "street" class ODVIOUSLY need to be in the "modified" class.

At Thunder In Muncie this year Ryan Milby entered the street class with his 96(?) 2500 truck that has had probably as much work done by EEP as Nick's! :-laf However when they teched him they determined his charger to be too big and asked him to step up to the modified class. He graciously did so, and went on to put down an amazing run in both Modified & Open classes.

I don't say this to bash Milby or Nick, but the true "Street" guys like me don't stand a chance against them.

Feedback very welcome!

milby = eep mechanic

nick = broke 24 year old

now who do we think that eep has done more work for? lol!

if ya'll would like us to come and pull with ya'll this year just let us know the dates. we'll see about being able to make it up there at least once this year. later, nick

It would be nice to have the dump bed already there, although I could add it myself. Electric operation is ok, I want the Auto that badly.

I would travel out of state if the truck was right. 12 or 24v, either way is ok. Quad cab or should I say extra cab is what I want as well, it would be nice to have the suicide doors.

If you see something right it down and let me know. Again it must be 1 ton dual wheel auto, quad would be nice but if everything else was right I would go with standard cab, must be white and 4x4 too.

Thanks for your help my friend.

Andy I will have something asap. I got a great idea..... or at least I hope!

I was in Lawrenceburg last night and noticed 3 white CTD's on one lot! One was a 2WD dually, then there was another dually that had some sort of flat bed on it (not sure if it was a dump) but thinking back, it looked like a 2WD also.

There was a 4x4 dually there with the regular pickup bed, but it was a quad cab and I think it was an auto. I did notice leather interior but don't know about anything else. I'll try to get the name of that place tomorrow and give them a call for some details.

Ok guys and gals,

First attempt at a logo. Give me an idea of colors wanted and anything else. I thought if the state was on there it would help identify us with tenn... . LOL!

I will freshen up the inside of the state to look more like either steel or brushed aluminum, or could get tricky and make it look like diamond plate... . hmmm, you guys tell me.

What cha think??

Nick glad you didn't take offense to that! ;)

Of course we want you to come pull for us!! I was crossing my fingers hoping you'd make it each time last year you big NO SHOW! :p :-laf

I like the first one - looks pretty nice.

One other idea - either Jay or Andy mentioned the idea of putting something like "Diesel Performance Group" or something like that on the shirt at the October meeting. So instead of putting the web address on there, how about something like that?

I think that would help others understand what the main purpose is. Not everyone would know what "turbo diesel register" means. Just a thought.

I really like the logo though and the first font that you used. Keep up the good work.

Got the timing bumped way up on the pulling truck... Gear spun and we lost where we was at. Pinned her back to the motor and don't really know where it's at at the moment but it still cranks. She is spitting, farting, white smoke, black smoke and puking oil out the dipstick hole :D Still MIP!(maintenance in progress)

Looking forward to January 29th... need my diesel fix. Starting to get the shakes. We need to do a roll call yet?

I agree on the TN state logo being on there. Also like the "Diesel Performance Group" too.

Did we ever get permission from TDR to use their logo? Just something for other TDR folks to identify us with at other venues.

We can use the TDR logo, or the Cummins Logo, or the holset logo, but they each have VERY strict guidelines, and must pass the approval of each vendor before we would be able to use them in print.

I have a vector graphic of each logo (. eps), and the guidelines for Cummins and Holset. For the TDR one, Robin said send the finished graphic to her for approval. She didn't specify near as much. Basically, just don't "change" it she said.

Here's another one I worked up...

anybody like that one? or some derivation of it? The grey is just "simulating" a shirt color...

it obviously still needs some work. . and prolly a different font for the mid-tenn part... it's just a rough sketch...

I like a combination of Andy's and Wallace's designs. Take Andy's design (I like the shape and the Orange color (GO Vols!) and replace the "Pill" shape for the Mid Tenn TDR with the shape of Tennessee as shown in Wallace's first sample. Then the www.turbodieselregister.com can be placed underneath the logo. I vote for "Performance Diesel Group" in the logo. Let's try to keep the official TDR and Cummins logos out of it. Too much legal crap to deal with on them.

What ya'll think???

Jay

That's a good idea Jay. I like Andy's new logo and Wallace's shape of Tennessee would look great with it. I liked Wallace's first font as well. "Diesel Performace Group" would look great on Andy's logo too.

If no one else wants to deal with the legal crap with Cummins, send me the design for the finished product and I'll try to get some results. I really think the Cummins "C" needs to be on the front over the left breast or where a pocket would go. I think this would further distinguish us from the Ford/Chevy boys. I don't really think that the TDR logo needs to be on their either.

One other idea - if we could get clearance, I also think that "Cummins Diesel Performance Group" would look good on the logo. Put "Cummins Diesel" on the top of the logo and then have "Performance Group" at the bottom. I think it would look sweet.

Keep up the good work fellas.
