Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

depending on the year of the truck. 5spd trucks have had quite a few problems. 3rd gear, 5th gear and mainshafts. but a good clutch and all of the parts to rebuild a 5spd is less than $2500. the 6spd is a great trans. i personally have never had a problem with a 6spd. a 6spd tows heavy loads a lot better than a 5spd. the shift pattern on the 6spd is great for towing. jmho, happy searching. nick

Yeah, we need to decide what rules we like.

We, the diesel people, are going to walk in with what we want class wise--and probably get it. They don't know how to class us. The ford guys want DHRA rules. I haven't studied on them all yet. I want something simple with two classes. They--the MTPA aren't going to like us coming in with 3 or 4 classes.

The DHRA argument is for uniformity--for folks coming from other places. But ask Nick--rules change from track to track. So I'm not much on that argument, but we Cummins folks need to work it out with the Ford boys before we go to meeting on the 18th.

I think that's when it is.

Safety rules will probably be dictated by MTPA. They've got to deal with the INS issues. I certainly don't want to have to run kill switches, blankets, and loops. Well, loops can be fabbed up pretty easy. Anyway...

Hey guys I'm throwing this out to my TN buddies to try and help someone get a good deal. There is a guy on this website I belong to (Pavementsucks.com) that has a used FASS fuel system for sale. $350 but it needs new filters.

Figured someone might wanna jump on it for that price... ... . if I had a 24V I know I would! :D

Finally got the liner sprayed in last night. I hadn't been that nervous since my boy was borned. I helped do the prep work. Kinda got a sick feelin with the first stroke of 80grit across the tailgate. Then they hang the drapes so's all you can see is the cab stickin out, like those ER shows on TV. The booth has windows, but with previous overspray I couldn't see squat. Came out and I was a proud papa

Just in time for the 29th Oo.

Hay, anybody got a stock AM/FM/CD player they ain't using? The one in the green truck has been beaten to death. The buttons don't operate as labeled. I pulled it out today and one of the mounting hole/tabs broke off. The front case is cracked... etc.

I guess the kid that owned the truck before dad took out his frustrations on the radio.

Great meeting as well. Too bad we don't have photos of the "parade" through the ford store. :-laf

Wade - SOMEWHERE I have a factory Infinity AM/FM/Cassette that came out of my old '96 Dodge. Its yours if you think you can do without a CD player in that truck.

Thanks Hans, but I have two of those already. They came out of my sister's and Mom's trucks.

Yep, sometimes a campsite just ain't right without a CD player. Not often, but sometimes. ;)

Suitable for framing.

I ordered an 8x10 for $5. 44 shipped. Not bad I don't think.

OH, BTW, I don't benefit from any orders you guys place. If you see a pic you like, feel free to order it, or copy it for yourself.

Well guys the truck is running awesome. I had a little trip and the mileage has gone up 2-3 minimum. Almost broke 22 mpg. On a longer trip and reset for highway only I bet the truck would be right at 25 mpg.

I talked with Mark Craig from DPP. He offered for us to use his facility in Nashville for our next meeting. He wants at least 30 days to plan it out if we want to have anything there. He has room inside for two to three trucks at a time, but parking might be an issue. I just wanted to post this to let everyone know what a nice bunch of guys they are, and to tell Mark thank you!

Also, if anyone is looking for exhaust tips, you might want to run by DPP and talk to Mark about the returned units. Slight damage but still very good condition. Just a thought.

So Andy, got out shirts yet? :-laf :-laf

Hey Wade just wanted to pop up again and say thanks for pushing me to do the Gov. Arm adjustment saturday.

Its like I'm driving a completely different truck now! :--) Oo.

Mileage has went WAY WAY UP! Will report that after this weekend, but I went from 13mpg to 16mpg after replacing a leaking fuel supply line. Now I can't wait to see what I'm getting with this new found power. I've only been driving on like 25% throttle or less, and also driving by my boost gauge trying to keep it at 10psi or less for best mpg.

Going to Ohio this weekend to get some traction bars built for the truck. Oo.

Catch up with y'all later.

Hey Mid_tenn... I had a GREAT time driving in from VA and even better driving back. Went from 11. 8 MPG to 14. 5 Wade and all... . Thanks for the fun you showed me. I got lots to learn about this truck and everyone there did a great job of making me feel at home. Sorry I had to leave early and find a Hotel room but ended up leaving about 5:30 AM local time. You guys were GREAT and I really enjoyed the trip and some of the things I learned. Sorry if you missed this post in the old thread. BTW I Want a T-shirt with that dang fine logo :) Guess it will make up for the spark plugs I was promised :)

If I get in the mood to go with twins, which turbo system should I look at?

I like what I see from the B series, and from PDR. Any others to consider?

Once the twins are here and installed, how soon should I try to upgrade other things like, injectors, head work and or cam?

:-laf :-laf (another one takes the bait) :-laf :-laf

IMO, I'd get the head work done before twins were even ordered. That way you can enjoy them from the start without worry.
