Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

I'd call Gap, Nick, Mark or Wade. They know the most about 12V timing. I think gap has run pretty much all the way in both directions, and settled on the low end... Seems like Ol Smokey was runnin 16* or something. Of course, every applicaton is different because of different mods... If you can't get a hold of Gap, holler at me I'll look up numbers for the others.

16. 5* is a great all around sweet spot. Most street trucks and tow rigs will benefit the most here. Most horsepower with the least heat and smoke.

Ol smokey has been at 16, 17,21,22,24 and 40. We got her back at 24 now till we can get here tuned. I think our sweet spot will be 24-27 with the cam we have and fuel we flow. We have PLENTY of fuel. Need to get here tuned in now. Thank we have a busted piston now. Truck is running. kinda sluggish and pucking oil pretty good out the dipstick tube still. Gonna get it from Red this weekend and take it to Joe's Shop (Underwood Tire) and prolly pull the head. Ol man said fix it and go run it at teh drag strip. He wants to see what it'll do. I of course said NO Problem!

Mark's up to 2 votes! I think he can catch Kent Crowder if we all pull together! :p

We're getting ready to head up to Stanford, Kentucky about 12:30 this afternoon. Gonna watch the pull up there (Super Semis) and stay in Stanford tonight. There's gonna be diesel trucks in Stanford Saturday night but I think the better pull might be in Cynthiana. There's also a big pull with diesel trucks in Xenia, Ohio on Saturday night too - seems pretty stupid to have 3 pulls within 200 miles of each other all running diesel trucks.

Any recommendations on which one to go to on Satuday? I think Crowder's gonna be in Cynthiana so that probably means that some other big dawgs will be there too.

We'll see...

EDIT:

Looks like some of the guys are pulling in Cynthiana first and then heading to Stanford to pull there Saturday night too. Don't know how they're gonna make it - it's a good 3. 5 hours from Cynthiana to Stanford.

It can't be 3. 5 hrs from C-town to Stanford... . its 3. 5 hrs from my to C-town and then only 2. 5 hrs from my house to Stanford.

Gonna be a good show..... I am sick that I'm gonna miss it. :{

Thanks for the votes... ... Gapper I replied to you over there. :p

Gonna order a DSS steering stabilizer too. Truck is constantly line to line on the road. Bearing is shot in the bottom of the steering box.

This help yours Jay?

Gap, honestly, the DSS by itself did not help the wander on my truck. I bought a PSC steering box and that really made the difference. The PSC box with the DSS is probably what you need.

I have also replaced the track bar with the 3rd Gen setup from Darrin and changed to a Borgenson steering shaft. I still have a little play but it I can hold the steering wheel straight while going down a straight stretch of road.

The quad (140) race box is supposed to be a nice one. Paul and I both run a Ramifier from TSPerformance in Bowling Green. I've been pleased with mine, Gap and I even made a trip up there. Dennis spent about 4 hours tweaking my box. He even seemed excited to do it.

The one thing I don't know about is how the quad box stacks with other boxes. It may not be stackable. Seems like it does Timing and Pressure, which would effectively eliminate it from being a combo with another box. The TST PMCR that Nick (Cumminsman) mentioned and the Ramifier makes a N-I-C-E stack. Of course, those two boxes will grenade a turbo before you can get to the end of your street if you crank them both up. On the flip side, that's the nice part. It's a set up you can grow into... Blistering power today with your stock charger, Sick SICK HP with some other mods. That's my . 02

Also, lemme plug Nick and Meacham. Two of the best guys you'll ever meet (I'm gettin' misty eyed just thinking about it. ). Done business with both of them. Don't buy anything without calling them first.

Thanks for the Input Andyman, I kind of like the sound of the TS box your running, and i am going to give it another look. Just the thought of stacking that TST with the Ramifier makes me giggle, and I know my wife would never ride with me then!!

Gap,

What Jay said. I have the DSS. It helped a bunch with the bump steer and a general "loose" feeling in the steering but the wander is still there. I haven't done the new steering box yet. It's not so bad I can't live with it yet.

Gap ... ..... Joe..... ,

Had a good time at the track friday night. Joe I'm impressed how your truck ran ... . Not bad for a big ol' long truck... . I have the timing on my truck set at 16. seems to work pretty well, course I aint played with it after I put it there.

Yeah, call up there and ask to speak to Dennis Perry. Those of us that went up there were pretty impressed with their operation, product, and willingness to help. I was really starting to feel bad, I'd bet he climbed in and out of my engine compartment twenty times hooking and un-hooking that box... walking it back to the lab and re-adjusting it. He showed us their software, how they made changes, everything. It was a pretty cool field trip. :)

Also do a search or two on the Ramifier/TST stack. Lot of info there.

OH! BTW... last time I was at Meachams (Cedar City Diesel in Lebanon), he had a couple of TST PMCR's sittin on shelf ready for installation!!!! Man, how convenient (evil grin... )

Truck Pull Wednesday night Scottsville, KY. (45 minutes from my house to give a rough estimate)

Not sure on time or anything really cause the only info provided on my KYDTR site was

Scottsville County Fair Wed. 13th 2 classes 6200lbs over & under

The guy posted a # but w/o an area code so I will try and get one and call first thing Monday for some more info. I get off @ 6:15 so I am going to try my best to make it, and I might even pull. Depends on the Diesel crowd once I get there because I won't have time to grab a trailer.

I think the pull in Scottsville starts at 7:00. I've got a couple of friends that are gonna hook. If you go keep your eye out for a silver 05 qc 3500 Got Boost sticker on back glass. If it holds together it will be a show.

I realized what I wrote later in the day - I meant to say that it was a good 3. 5 hours from Xenia to Stanford, which are the two places that Eric Stacey was planning on pulling Saturday night.

Anyway, we're back but we didn't go to a pull Saturday night. Super Semis put on a helluva show Friday night in Stanford - very cool. We left Stanford around 11:30 and then ended up driving to Gatlinburg. :-laf Did a few tourist things and then drove home. That left me with a closer drive home than Cynthiana would have so that was a plus. I was worn out and knew that I had a lot of stuff to do today.

Oh, and to whoever asked about the DSS brace - I'm of the same opinion as Jay. It doesn't help eliminate wander or play at all. It is a brace just like it says and it supports the steering box.

Take it easy fellas.

Be happy you didn't stay for Saturday.

My KYDTR site said they wouldn't let Ryan Updraft ('03 White Duramax 2nd @ Indy), Chris Watson (Club Cab Long bed white 12V lifted on 35-36" STS's), and 2 others (nameless) pull because of lack of driveshaft loops... ..... AND THAT WAS THE STREET CLASS! :-{} #@$%!

i am putting a 65 hp plate and gauges in a 97 dodge. the guy hauls 3 cars on a wedge trailer. what should i up his timing to? (355, 5 spd, 1 ton)

Joe

So how much timing did the get? I'd wouldn't go past 16 for that setup. I'd go closer to 18 on a little pump.

Gap, at 'ere feesh ain't a yaller. :p

Gap's got a drag truck! Lookout Meacham!--he's got a P-pump! Oo. ;)

Reds truck is sitting at Undewoord Tire awaiting inspection. It got drove on and off the trailer. Thats a plus. We spun her up about 4500 rpm and she coughed, farted and pucked abut 1/2 quart. Garrick, Joe and I are going to pull the head tomorrow for a closer look. I'll let ya know.

Joe ran a 9. 19 in the 1/8 at 75mph. I didn't run mine. I will next time.

Funny laugh of the night. Jack (me boy) drank a BigRed, a red slushie and had a red popsicle then top all that off with about 1/2 lb of beef jerky. He blew it all over the back of joes seat on the way home :) (Napolean Dynamite voice... ) SWEET!

I was on the phone with Joe when it happened... ... LOL ... ..... I dont think I can think of a voice for joe when it happened... ... Joe and I were talking about how our trucks ran and all of a sudden... . In a voice that sounded to me to have a hint of... ... Oh thats great, and thats gross, and I hope that cleans up, and thats going to smell in the morning... . Joe just said... . Aw man, I got to pull over Gap's boy just threw up in the truck... ... . I have never seen headlights dart off the road like that..... LOL ... well, I think it all in all was a good night..... I had to much fuel in the mix..... Ran a couple tenths off and about 4 MPH off. . But, it was fun having some TDR guys there... . See yall tomorrow to pull the head... ...
