The flatbed is goin byby I believe, just throw it back together with a simple motor and sell it, all efforts will be concentrated on the new dually, and it will be a daily driver. Just got my engine today, have to start takin it apart and get the head work done first.

No, I don't feel like anyone has taken a shot, I truly enjoy the open communication and jabs, it makes my day sometimes to take a minute and pound the keyboard with the Mid-TN gang. I have had many chances to speak about the Mid-TN gang to my co-workers and customers. Most of them have no idea about the diesel nuts that are out there and the tremendous market that it represents.





What I can offer is either clutch facts (test data and reports) or my best opinion of what is going on in the bell housing, remember, no one has ever shown me an OBDII scan code for what a clutch is doing or not doing.



FYI, I am going to put together a proposal for a TDR openhouse at Perfection Clutch this spring, my boss gave me a green light, I know it is a long drive for the Mid-TN gang, but we could stand to get something going here is SC, we have some trucks here too.

Man, Gary you have got the facts about the clutch. When you step back and look at what we put those things through on a daily basis, it is a wonder they last a month!! I think the field trip would be cool idea too! I have to admit, I have always thought of a clutch as a just a clutch, but it is amazing to me (after smoking the stocker and this SB) just how much the different Friction materials and clamping load and heat really play into the big picture, and I hope no offence was taken at the comment I made above, I just wish I had waited for your clutch to come out last year!!

Mebbe they'll let you bring that supercharged (or turbocharged... I don't remember which) mustang with you this time... I'd like to see it out of the trailer and on the dyno.



As many times as Gary has wandered down to Mid-Tenn, I'm gonna have to return the favor and show up in SC for his open house. Be sure to let us know dates well in advance please.

Hey all, it's Shay, Sniper351, I just read about an hours worth of pages while I'm out in Dickson getting some tires on the Fiance's car and I figured I would say hey to you all since I haven't been on much at all lately. Work has me really busy and like Mark said, I've been planning a wedding on top of that. I'm really sorry that I missed the meet!!! Joe said it was a good one. Andy, so you finally got another truck, Congrats!!! My 04. 5 is still running strong, haven't done anything to it since Joe put the MBRP on her. Trying to talk Jos into a trade for his Silver gal out there, but I don't think he is biting yet... OK, I promise that I will get on more to see how you all are doing. April 7th, Mitsubishi follow up and Andy's slipping.

April 7th, Easter weekend, committed to the little lady that I would go the Ohio and bring our daughter back from school, no can do. Wade thanks for the TEMPTING offer, it's just the wrong weekend.



Mitsubishi, 5th clutch installed as a customer courtesy (we do not install commercially, just special cases) and a learning experience for Perfection at 47,000 miles. Yep, it is quite a story of a mid life crisis car, driver unintentional abuse and an entire team of line techs that need to be polishing bowling pins instead of working with tools. If anyone would like a copy of the report, let me know and I will send this fiasco story to you via e-mail as a word document.



Andy, one clarification, tach and speedo must be syncronized during power up. This is a good indication of no slip. Tach spikes, speedo watches what is going on without an increase in speed indicated, slipping. Tach and speedo spike together, tires splipping, get the video camera going, it's a good one.

slippage--simple test

White smoke= good.



Black smoke (no from exhaust)= bad... and stinky.



When the tach jumps and rear still feels planted--not good. With both rears lit, there's usually a bit of lateral movement.
