Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

There's a big benefit pull up in Kentucky Saturday. Joe and some of us are going up there. Should be a good pull with lots of good trucks.

Scott

Is that the one up in Munfordville, KY? I think I read about that one somewhere. Sounds like it should be a good pull.

Might be a good little trip to make. Plus, I'd finally like to meet some of the guys from here in person. And I finally got my Juice installed yesterday so maybe a good little highway trip is in order to try it out! Don't think I need to pull with my truck though. I've got the weekend off and I'd like to keep it as a weekend off from fixing torn up trucks. Had enough of that lately with my race trucks the last few weeks!

I was down at Dean Oil here in Springfield today picking up some Rotella CI4+ and they told me they only have 5 gallons left. Shell still makes the stuff, but Dean's is not going to be stocking it anymore. They can get me a drum of it but I can't swing $600 for it and thought maybe some of you fellas might want to go in on one.

They also still carry the Low Sulfer Diesel in case anyone's interested. It's 3. 53 right now. Cheapest ULSD around here is 3. 57. May be my imagination, but it sure seems like the old girl likes it lots better. Mileage is good, too. Still holding strong at 23 mpg. :)

I hope I'm going to be able to make the Munfordville pull. Owner told me yesterday we're doing inventory this weekend. I told him I can't work Saturday night but I will have to work all day Sunday.

Scott

Well, it's official. No pull for me. Going to be counting pieces parts till late Saturday and all day Sunday.

Guess I finally lost my pit crew position with Team Underwood. :{

Well, that stinks big time. Any kind on inventory is for the birds, thats for sure.

Anyway, who all made it to the pull in up in KY?? How did team Underwood pull?? Need some details??

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I've been almost rutted into fuel conservation mode for so long. Tonight after a few 355ml uninhibitors and on very rural roadways and 30f (high density) air, I twiddled my big toe a time or two.

And I barely could see the blur of the boost gauge needle as it swoooshed past 40 and the big old clunky truck surged forward in defiance of Newton's laws!

Congrats Joe and any body else I know on that list.

Second only to Sheids! Or, no, wait--that's Sheilds. :D

and pickin on a buncha girls. :-laf

Hay Joe, I have my very own personal road rash now. NOTHING like what you had-but I can empathize retroactively with much more accuracy now. Didn't you hit a dog?! I hit a dog. We were having a friendly race and he swapped lanes without signaling-taking my front wheel with him. I've already been back on the bike and am healing great--but it aggravates the ankle and hip some.

ankle, knee, hip, elbow, hand-all hit the chip and tar. hand-gloved, shorts didn't rip, sock peeled down. elbow took the beating. at maybe 20 MPH (hey it was flat ground and I hadn't kicked it yet--might get to 28 in the big gear on the flat sprinting a dog).

Xeroform, Duoderm, mini-pads, antibio-goo, women's hoseries, and desitin STUFF I LEARNED about while dealing with these injuries. Road rash doesn't happen out on the trails where I tend to crash more. Trails are much safer. BUT this was my second road crash in 22-23 years of riding.

Eight days in socks and flops. and this IS boot weather... I might slip a foot in there today. ;)

ps what's a 2. 6 diesel? I thought mine was 5. 9

Congrats Joe on the good finish!! What about that two wheel driver finishing 11th out of 27. That is pretty good with the lack of front wheel assistance!!

Oh yeah, all you 12v guru's what kind of boost will the stock head gasket hold w/ stock bolts and do studs help much with the stock gasket. Just wondering???

DO NOT confuse me with a guru, but I gots a 12v or two. According to Haisley, stock bolts and gasket will hold over 50 psi (I think it was 60-70) BUT that was with re-torquing about every SIX MONTHS.

With one good re-torque, I've not had any problem with 50 and 16* timing in the green thing. (when it was rolling). The red one has fire rings--that's when I talked to Van.

But never forget that boost gauge reading is a reflection of resistance to flow and only one of many things that contributes to cylinder pressure-which is what blows gaskets. Other factors are timing, charger volume (how hard it has to work--and thus heat the air--hotter is less dense). other stuff, but I'm confused now...

I blew a gasket by running the timing up to where I though it should be--and not retorquing the head.

I think life is grand at 16-18 for a street truck

beer me.

Axe me more i'll tell you less. :D

My last post alludes to this--the chargers aren't working any harder (significantly), but these cooler air temps give it denser bites of air--which affect the speed of spooling and boost numbers.

really, I'm getting a beer now... ;)

Payed $3. 13 for the LSD yesterday. It's still too much but it's a lot better than it was.

Scott

It's 1/10 of 1/100 of one dollar less than 3 bucks in Woodbury today. Anybody else thing the fractional cent pricing is a bit outdated?

Heck, I throw some more soot just for good ole times sake. ;)

Got yall beat, CO-OP in Eagleville, $2. 89!!! I didnt believe it, so I drove out and checked myself and it true. Come to think of it, might be some bio-blend being at the Co-op, not sure if its straight ULSD.

Let's go to the woods.

Huh? what? somebody say something here?

WELLS for me, diesel is cheeper but I's still is po. AND I checked my mileage the other day-I always write down the fill-ups but don't always do the math right away. I'm getting 20-21 consistently and NEARLY 22 on a few tanks! Driving like an old man sure does keep fuel in the tank.

Deer season opens Saturday and I expect I'll be at deer camp in MURRY county. Yeah, that ain't how it's spelled but that's how yous say it. Even after the Yankee invasion. FTR I lived there from 1972-1982,

Unless the trail camera shows me something that I just can't leave walking around up here. Borrowed two trail cameras and have two new stands (free) up on my place. One of 'em is fully enclosed. Still clearing shooting lanes and planning the crops for next season. Scrapes all around and one SERIOUS rub.

Guess I should had otter find the rest of my ammo. I have two "walkin" rifles and one stand-only-during-dry-weather rifle. The first two: Browning A-bolt in 30-06, and a Rem 700 Mtn Rifle in . 280 (sweet handling gun-I love the stock shape on that one). The pretty day gun is a Ruger #1 Tropical in 375 HH Mag. Bought it on a whim, love it. Pretty wood, very accurate, takes NO prisoners. I've killed one buck and one bobcat with it. Needs a little more blood to be on par with the rest. ALSO plan to try to get one with my sidearm this year. It's a custom five-shot conversion on a Ruger Bisley. 5. 5" bbl and I have run 350 grain bullets out of it at 1200fps (454 Casull territory), but that's not a pleasant thing. It makes a 44 seem like a 357 at that point. I think my 300 and 325 grainers at 1000 will punch a Bambi just as well and are not so vicious on the shooter end.

Trying to put meat in the freezer, thas what I'm doing.

Next.

Mark your calendars fellas!

The TS Outlaw Event is scheduled for May 8th-9th. They're having the drag races AND the pull at Beech Bend this year. The "Open House" will be at Beech Bend on the 8th with barbecue and live music and the races and the pull there on the 9th.

This was probably the most popular diesel event in the country last year and should be bigger and better this year. I've been the past 2 years and will not miss it.

Scott

I second that Scott, we have been to the TS event for 4 years now, and it seems to double in size every year. Having pulls and drags at the same place will truly put this event over the top. RandyOo.
