Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Well, they changed the TS pull back to the fairgrounds. It's to be run by Scheid. He and Dennis Perry are to meet with the fairgrounds people after the holidays to make improvements to seating and traffic. I would have liked for it to be at Beech Bend, but Dennis says they don't want to build the facilities for pulling this year. Probably worried about the economy. I can't blame them. I hope they do something to improve the pit area.

Was invited by Big Papa to introduce myself my name is Paul and am the very proud owner of a 1996 3500 extended cab 4x4 5spd with 136k. Have owned this beast for 8yrs and had no issues until this summer. Oil had found its way into radiator so I am dealing with that as of right now. Also tearing front cover off to make sure KDP does not haunt me. Have purchased a Git Kit from Banks and plan to install it during all other repairs that I am making. Also am going to bring timing up and have pump and injectors checked. Main goal is to make this thing as bullet proof as possible.

Thanks Scott for involving me and keeping me in the loop with all these knowledgeable people. Also thanks for replying on my thread that I posted, beleive I have made my decision. Believing I am going to install the three piece manifold during all the repairs also.

Welcome Paul!

You'll find some good knowledgable friends here. Everybody's always willing to help. Joe (Underwood Tire) is the one that helped us with your Daddy's fuel pump problem. Meachum from Cedar City Diesel reads these forums but he's not a member of TDR anymore. You'll meet everybody else along the way. Haven't really talked about it yet but maybe we'll be able to get another meet up after first of the year and then you can shake some hands.

If you go with the 3-piece manifold it should have a provision for the thermocouple already.

Noticed one guy's already posted something negative about Banks on your other thread. You'll not find many people here that like the Banks stuff. I think the main thing with that is that many people think that the Banks stuff is just way over priced. With all the experimenting that's been done by all the TDR members through the years it's been found that you can generally make as much or more power reliably for much less money. It's not that anybody thinks the Banks stuff is bad or that they have poor customer service, it's just the price. Don't let the anti-Banks talk get you down or drive you away.

As usual, if you need anything, just holler!

Welcome to the club Paul. Sounds like you have gotten off to a good start with your truck. What about it guys, anyone coming to the Boro for the big indoor pull in Jan. Not that far away if you think about it??

Oh yeah, saw over on Comp D that Bean is having a huge dyno day this Sat, with lots of prize money, prizes, diesel mags coming to take pics and one big bonfire as well. Just thought Id throw it out there!

Welcome Paul.

YEAH, WORD ON THE STREET is that Bean's deal is going to be big and may start on Fri and go through SUN.

This is possible because they'll be using the in-house dyno.

I'll be down there Friday. Have to a shooting event Saturday. Might come back down to Bean's Saturday night. Sunday looks good for a Ride--and more firewood gathering.

Then, of course, back to the woods. Popped a coyote last Sunday--dang they're fun to skin.

NOT!!!#@$%!:rolleyes::confused::mad::-{}:rolleyes:

but that hat is going to be cool:cool::-laf

Oh and if you go to Bean's and you notice the big building across the highway that's for sale--there's $1,000 cash in-yo-pocket money for anyone bringing me a buyer who closes. Realtors excepted-they get more than that. ;)

Huh? what? somebody say something here?

WELLS for me, diesel is cheeper but I's still is po. AND I checked my mileage the other day-I always write down the fill-ups but don't always do the math right away. I'm getting 20-21 consistently and NEARLY 22 on a few tanks! Driving like an old man sure does keep fuel in the tank.

Deer season opens Saturday and I expect I'll be at deer camp in MURRY county. Yeah, that ain't how it's spelled but that's how yous say it. Even after the Yankee invasion. FTR I lived there from 1972-1982,

Unless the trail camera shows me something that I just can't leave walking around up here. Borrowed two trail cameras and have two new stands (free) up on my place. One of 'em is fully enclosed. Still clearing shooting lanes and planning the crops for next season. Scrapes all around and one SERIOUS rub.

Guess I should had otter find the rest of my ammo. I have two "walkin" rifles and one stand-only-during-dry-weather rifle. The first two: Browning A-bolt in 30-06, and a Rem 700 Mtn Rifle in . 280 (sweet handling gun-I love the stock shape on that one). The pretty day gun is a Ruger #1 Tropical in 375 HH Mag. Bought it on a whim, love it. Pretty wood, very accurate, takes NO prisoners. I've killed one buck and one bobcat with it. Needs a little more blood to be on par with the rest. ALSO plan to try to get one with my sidearm this year. It's a custom five-shot conversion on a Ruger Bisley. 5. 5" bbl and I have run 350 grain bullets out of it at 1200fps (454 Casull territory), but that's not a pleasant thing. It makes a 44 seem like a 357 at that point. I think my 300 and 325 grainers at 1000 will punch a Bambi just as well and are not so vicious on the shooter end.

Trying to put meat in the freezer, thas what I'm doing.

Next.

I shoot a remington 700 in the . 308 caliber , love that deer rifle! When I was home on break last from school I lit up two doe's in a field with that bolt action. Such a smooth action on those guns. And my sidearm I carry now into the field is a springfield sub-compact XD40:D

One thing I love as much as trucks is hunting, nothing like being in a duckblind or deer stand and they start coming to youOo. I am home for about 5 weeks from college on saturday, plan on hunting as much as possible. Only issue is I have no land, so usually my parents friends let me hunt their property to take care of the doe problem:cool: Some places I hunt are so trophy managed that were not allowed to shoot bucks, but I don't mind shooting doe's at all.

I'd offer for you to hunt out here-but the does AREN'T on the ridge this year and the bucks are coming through pretty slow. I caught a pretty good one on the trail cam-but since no does sprinkled in the scrapes-he found better places to be. :-laf;)

Still some little bucks making the rounds-but this excessive mast crop (and lack of game plots) has made it ultra tough on the ridge this year. My main hunting rigs are a Ruger #1 Tropical, A-bolt, and 700 Mountain. I have a BDL or ADL 700 (I forget which is which) that is a safe queen. Have a couple of Mauser I'm sporterizing (very slowly). I'm rebarreling one to 338-06AI and leaving the other in 6. 5x55. Next rifle is going to be a traditional flintlock long rifle. Might have it together by next season--you know if you buy the good stuff and put a pretty piece of wood on it, those things can be quite pricey.

We're planting some stuff next year--keep those fat does up on top where the bucks have something to do. We shoot bucks, but not the bitty ones. Spikes and good 8 or better is the "rule".

I was a gun nut before diesel was invented... well before Dodge and Cummins struck up their relationship... same thing really. ;)

Here's the trail cam buck. He'll be a bruiser in a couple of years--but if'n I see him before then--well that's the end of his time.

Hey need any help with does-I might be interested in bagging a few.

Here's the biggest buck of the five we got in Maury on opening weekend. His twin was killed there in early muzzy loader-by the father of the guy who got this one--with a 30 flippin 30 at 15-20 yards. (it's tight down there).

And the bigger buck (in the smaller pic) is from College Grove (where they plant and manage).

went back to South Dakota over thanksgiving, came home with this dude. I still cant figure out what the deer are doing here at home. they say second rut in late december so maybe thing will pick up here at home.

What they're doing here is eating under every tree in the woods--everything with bark made fruit or nuts this year and they simply don't have to travel like normal. White oak acorns are still on the ground and persimmons are being ignored--they're fat and staying tight or moving at night. ALL my trail-cam bucks were caught at night.

SO--when you inviting me to SD? Is it cold up there? Can we fly? Was that buck running with big deer? :-laf:-laf:-laf

Super buck--looks like 300# dressed and a 120ish gross score!

Joe made the statement, 5lb 9 3/4 oz. , sounds alot like 5. 9 3/4 ton. This one will be a diesel nut for sure.

Congrats.

Her name is Sarah Joann. May not have spelled it right but that's what you get. They're at Baptist Hospital.

I've got a pic on my phone of her and "Uncle Gap" if someone can get it on here or to me in an e-mail we can get it on here.
