We are having a baby girl, and we have decided to name her Lucy. As much as we like that name, we can't come up with a suitable middle name that goes with Lucy. Any ideas?... Besides Fer... :)

Use a grandmother's or great grandmother's name or some other name from the family that fits Lucy. Favorite aunt maybe.

Lou - as in Lucy Liu!

Seriously, I like Lucy Marie, though any agreement with Boomer in this forum should not be construed as agreement with him on any subject in the Political Forum! :p

Go with a standalone middle name. That way if she doesn't like her first name when she gets older (like 99% of kids) then she can use her middle name.

I named my daughter Louann Michelle Snyder. Louann was after my mother thus the name made her happy and scored alot of good stuff for the baby. :-laf

Then my daughter decided to go by her middle name after she got into the gotta-be-cool years at school.

So how about Lucy Lynn (nah - Lynn can also be a boys name - certain to be teased in school if ever used).

Lucy Kim - has a ring.

Lucy Ann - increases probability she will want to stay with her first name :-laf

I like the extension Hohn came up with, "Lucille". For the middle name I would look a "Cathrine".

That way when you yell at her for bad deeds you can use "LC your last name". :)

My Daughter is Kathleen Dianne, she goes by the name, Katie. Ya see the parallel, "KD". Her softball jersey has the name, "KD MAC" on it.

Cathrine is also a strong name with history to it.

Good luck with your newest addition and have fun with her. Mike

grandmothers' names are Karen Sue and Ethel Mae (boy, it is pretty evident that we grew up in rural East Texas, huh) and great-grandmothers are out as well (names like Erma Jean, Edna Mae, Louise, etc). We don't like any one-syllable names like Sue or Lee, we just don't think it goes well. My wife didn't like my idea of naming here Lucy-Fer Hale, so that is out:) I had a favorite great aunt named Agnes, but my wife nixed that name as well. Catherine does sound OK. We still have some time.

One of my great aunts (born 1828) was named Lucy Elizabeth. There are lots of Lucys and Elizabeths in the family tree now because of her.
